Think Small
Writing a biography hundreds of pages long is not going to encourage your family members to read it. A short story that only takes a minute or two to read is perfect for consuming stories quickly.
Go beyond the typical family tree with Storied. Tell a story, share a memory, add pictures, and include people and relationships that do not fit on the traditional family tree.
A family tree consists of names, dates, and locations. While that information is essential to a family’s history, those facts don’t give us an overall picture of a person’s life. That’s why stories are such a vital part of family history. Storied allows you to add stories and memories to the people in your family tree. It’s a place to capture snapshots of life for future generations.
Capture the essence of your family's culinary heritage with our newest story format: family recipes! From beloved classics to secret family gems, ensure your recipes remain a cherished part of your family history. Start preserving today!
The homepage on Storied includes a personalized story feed just for you! Not only do you see your stories in the story feed, but you also see all the stories of the people you follow. Each time someone you follow adds a new story, it will pop up in your personalized story feed as long as they make it public. It’s a great way to keep up-to-date with the people you know and love.
Not sure where to get started with storytelling? Find inspiration in a variety of ways.

It’s common in this day and age to have pictures in several locations - in a closet, in a photo album, on a computer, or on your phone. Challenge yourself to find one picture a week and tell a story based on that picture. In one year, you could have 52 stories!
If you have family heirlooms, artifacts, or any kind of special memento, use those as a springboard to a story. Snap a picture of your souvenir, heirloom, etc., upload it to Storied, and write a few paragraphs about why it’s so important, how it came to be in your possession, who had it originally, etc.
Sometimes it helps to have just one line to jumpstart your story. Story starters, or story prompts, can give you the nudge you need to remember a story. Even if it feels insignificant to you, future generations will appreciate each and every tidbit of information they can read about you.
