This group is now defunct, but there are a lot of active knitting, crocheting, and spinning groups in Seattle. Check out Capitol Hill Knitters (which, last I checked, meets every week at different places around the Hill) & Sheepless in Seattle (which has a running list of Puget Sound groups, most of which have a Ravelry presence or a Yahoo group or both).

Ravelry is still in beta, so put your email address in for a free invite. Wait time, last I heard, was about a week. It is totally worth it.

The Shawl That I Thought Would Never End

I finally finished the shawl!  The one I've been working on since I started coming to Stitch & Bitch! Actually I started it before SnB, but I did the majority of the work on it at those meetings and the Stitch & Pitch.  I worked on it some more on our recent camping trip and finished it off late last night/ early this morning!

Okay, days of the week are even across the board except for Saturay. There's also an overwhelming response for once a month at rotating locations.

Considering it's unusually hard for everyone to make it to a weekly meeting (as we've seen in the past), I thought it'd be nice to combine the two options:

How about we do once a month, early afternoon on a Saturday? Roughly 4pm until people scatter for Saturday night events??

I know that *everyone* didn't vote for Saturday, but hopefully we can work something out.

[Clean-up update]

as promised, we cleaned up the membership today. we kept you if we know you, if you responded to the poll, or if you responded to the community purge entry. we felt this was not an unreasonable move, since less than 25% of members bothered to respond.

i am sure there are folks who were just not around to comment, so if you are still interested in this community, you are more than welcome to request membership again. we just ask that you take the poll either before or after rejoining.

Membership purge!

While we were figuring out a new meeting time and place, it seemed only appropriate to do a membership purge. Lots of people who joined the community a while ago have never actually attended, and if we're going to be doing potlucks at people's houses, we'd prefer not to be posting our addresses to 50 people we don't know.

So...if you want to stay in the community, please to be commenting here by Wednesday morning!
