You won’t ever get this song out of your head. You’re welcome.

And I know, this doesn’t fit the opener categorie, as it’s the closing song. But the opener hasn’t got it’s hooks into the brains of children just like Warum bin ich so fröhlich did.

So, meet the hero of my childhood: Alfred Jodocus Kwak. (Yes, you say the whole name instead of just Jay or something. People get rightfully called out for such laziness.)

We Germans got lucky, with Herman van Veen singing for us as well. 👍

Fun story time: I had the first like ten or twelve episodes on cassettes. And just like always when I’m fan of something, I’m listening to it. All day long. Every day. Thus, sounds of the cassettes came from my room, and Stibitzi screaming „I AM NO SPYYYYY“, really high-pitched has drilled itself into Mum’s mind, she’s ptsd’ed, I tells you. Mention Alfred and she’ll raise her voice to mimic that cry.

And while I never made it to the episodes to Winnie for some reason, she was my first girl crush. I had one of those calenders, where you can cut out the illustration and use as a postcard and either July or June had Alfred and Winnie sitting on a rainbow, sharing a sundae. Even my rather aromantic ass loved this image.

I really need to renew my subscription to access my Alfred icon…

Yes, I know this song. Here is the original version 😄. Now you can have it in your head in two languages.

Hi, I'm here trough the FTH fanbinding offers as I'm also offering books! :D
That song really gets stuck in your head, I remember it well from my childhood even though I didn't watch the show often (I still can sing Gummibärenbande though XD).

Haha yes! I'm so excited for this year's FTH, I think it will be really good and successful! [personal profile] ehyde already got a statement bid of $450! XD ("Hands off, this is my book!") I don't have illusions that I'll hit such an amount, I'm still far off from their skill, but I hope for a nice number!

Disney Club in the morning was a staple of my childhood, so many songs still stucl in my head. XD Also, anime on RTLII! XD

I hope you'll have a great time with your first year! It's my, uhhh, fourth now, and third with fanbinding offers - it's been a lot of fun. I like that you're offering a different binding style, that brings in some variety and I'm sure there are many people who are interested in it!
Yeah, advertising is always a good idea, though FTH also does some promo posts throughout the week. I've been making some posts on tumblr and have reblogged everyone who offers fanbinding and has a tumblr post up. I mentioned it on my Bksy though that's a small account, but better than nothing. XD

I looooved Darkwing Duck! XD Yeah, those were the times!

I also don't have many followers, but there's a few mutuals on tumblr that are bigger so if they reblog, it has some reach. But yeah, do promo on Discord! Just telling everyone about it! Usually, once the auction week starts, people come over and check it all out.^_^

I've not tried rounding yet - I'm a lazy bookbinder. XD Perhaps I'll try it at some point, now that I've made a Klotzpresse, but it's not a priority. I love inlays. :D I don't have fancy equipment like Cricut etc. so I need other ways to make nice covers. *g*

I also don't have a Disney+ sub currently - I rarely take the time to sit down and watch something and it's too expensiv to pay without watching anything. I've got Netflix through my parents, that has to be enough for now. XD

Yeah, Renegade would be great for that!

I couldn't remember what it's called in English because my resources are such a mix of German and English. XD I made it myself with stuff from Obi - only annoying thing was getting the thick wooden blocks, because they didn't have short ones - now I've basically got wood for two more of these things. XD
Hot foil quills are awesome! <3

I made the flatt bookpress with those cutting boards and had search like 10 shops to find some that were not bamboo. XD Because I'd read that bamboo sometimes is a bit oily so it might dirty the paper. Fun times. XD And I usually put like two or three of those huge encyclopedias on top of it. XD That works super well, though so far I haven't really had a big chonk - the thickest was 500 pages, I think.

Yay for a book cradle! :D

I really need to start working on my binds again - I've got a ready-to-go textblock here that just needs a case, and I've got another typeset printed... And I need to do the typeset for the MTH book, I've been dragging my feet because typesetting is the process I'm meh about. But with FTH now coming up, I should get to that, probably...

(Currently, I'm suffering through the ESC show on RTL and there's been, like, two songs that are kind of okay but not really hits? T_T The other, uhhh 11 or so are pretty forgettable. *sigh*)

Oh yes that's really a bit of a chonk, especially because it's small and the pressure is very centred on a small space. I love Three Piece bradel bindings. :D The first time I tried them, I struggled some because the paste/PVA mix didn't work so well in keeping spine and boards together, so I used only PVA. It's great for cut-out covers.

I might make a book cradle, too (just found an nice tutorial on YT) because though punching works well enough on the edge of a table, it seems much easier to keep all the papers aligned in a cradle.

Yeah, they're trying to create hype with Raab being back etc. Next Saturday is the final for our act and ... ehhhh. From those they left in, I can see potetnial in about three, perhaps four songs, if they do some work on them. I hope they do. Fearing through that the public will choose the metal band whose song really didn't convince me (suuuper simple chorus, wordgames in the German lyrics will be lost on most viewers). We'll see.

So far, I've only made Bradel or three piece Bradel bindings, because that was what I saw in my first videos (didn't know what it was called, it was just how one made a case-bound book), so by now I'm feeling more confident about it. What I've found is that for the initial press after casing in, I put the spine outside the press so that the little space between spine and boards fits neatly onto the board edges. Like this, I haven't had any air bubbles anymore. But for my second book or so I totally messed up the space between spine and boards. XD Far too narrow and I'm pondering redoing that book at some point... XD

Ohhh yes that's exactly the video I also found and thought was really well explained! :D

I would've prefered for Raab to stay retired - or at least come back with fresh ideas, which I haven't seen so far from him. I liked Schlag den Raab and he did well with hus music shows back in the day, but time has moved on.

Welcome

"But, if you want the freedom to [go] anywhere, talk about anything, then write books. […]

People write to say this story is the funniest they've ever heard.

People write to say it's the saddest they've ever heard.[…]

These are the places that only books can go.

This is the advantage that books still have. This is why I write.

Thank you for reading my work."
