Red Eight was the callsign given to the eighth member of Red Squadron. Rebel pilot Zal Dinnes flew under the callsign around the time of the Battle of Scarif[1] and during the Battle of Yavin.[2] Following the Battle of Hoth, Will Scotian was assigned this callsign.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Red Eight callsign made its first appearance in the 2015 video game Star Wars Battlefront, which was published by Electronic Arts.[4]
