Manda was a terrestrial astronomical object[5] located in the Manda system in the Manda sector of the Mid Rim Territories.[1] It was situated along the Manda Merchant Run hyperspace route[3] and was the endpoint of another route that traveled west to Mon Gazza.[4] The freighter Eclipse once set course in hyperspace to Manda to drop off several of its crewmembers.[5] Tibbs Ospe, the owner of the Lodge on the planet Vandor, thought that Vandor might make a good stop for traders heading to Manda or Deneba, so[6] by 10 BBY,[7] he had fixed the ruins of Ypsobay Trading Company's old headquarters, filled in craters in old landing strips, and let people know they could find fuel and food at Fort Ypso.[6]
Behind the scenes
Manda was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2015 short story "Mercy Mission," written by Melissa Scott.[5]
In Star Wars Legends, Manda first appeared in "Tail of the Roon Comets," the tenth episode of Star Wars Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO, released in 1985.[8]
