Why rec'ed?
This is such an awesome Missing Scene/Tag for the time between "Search and Rescue" and "The Seed". We see what John has to deal with on a daily base as a military commander and as the leader of the expedition until Woolsey takes over. There are great OC's, there is humor and sadness and there are wonderful, wonderful Team moments.

Tin Man by Kristen999

Title: Tin Man
Author: kristen999
Characters: Rodney, John, Teyla, Ronon,
Summary: Visiting an abandoned outpost leads to some amazing discoveries but with dire consequences. Rodney and the team battle a racing clock as they begin to lose Sheppard a little at a time.

Why rec'ed? This story is why I love science fiction. It's filled with twists and turns, a cool plot, and a very intriguing OC. I was pulled in by Rodney's internal conflict as he's torn between his love for discovery and his quest to save Sheppard. There's a lot of team, plenty of banter, and lots of emotion. A great page turner.

Home is Where the Heart Is by everybetty and kristen999

Title: Home is Where the Heart Is
Authors: everybetty  and kristen999
Characters: John Sheppard, Ronon Dex, Teyla Emmagan, Rodney McKay, Evan Lorne, Nancy Beauchamp, Todd, OCs, apperances of Vala Mal Doran, Cameron Mitchell, Jack O'Neill, Carson Beckett
Summary: Atlantis is back on Earth; things should be quiet and boring, light years away from Pegasus. While trying to find a place in this new life, John struggles with politics, a pending promotion… oh, and a deadly conspiracy that threatens the lives of everyone on Earth. Again.

Why rec'ed? If you're craving new episodes of SGA - read this fic. It will be like a brand new episode - only better! This is a wonderful post "Enemy at the Gate" fic which shows us about the struggle of getting Atlantis back to Pegasus and John's struggle with the bureaucracy on Earth. We see John dealing with a desk job and John being a soldier. We see how awesome Evan Lorne as a XO is and there is no shortness on Teamness, whump, humor and serious stuff. :)

Red Sands by Kristen999

Title: Red Sands
Author: kristen999
Rating: PG-15
Characters: Sheppard, Ronon, various OCs
Summary: Stranded on a harsh, desolate world, John and Ronon learn that merely surviving is only half the fight. Simple summary for a complex story.

why rec'd? Because it is a simple summary for a complex story. And be warned, once you start reading this story does not let you go. Heart-wrenching, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat action, John and Ronon friendship and let's not forget awesome world building. This story has everything to love about sci-fi, SGA and its characters, with a very intriguing OC to boot.

Practicing Medicine by kristen999

Title: Practicing Medicine
Author: kristen999
Characters: Jennifer Keller, Team, OC's
Summary: Jennifer learns that accepting and upholding an oath, requires living it.

Why rec'ed? This story has a wonderful Keller POV and describes the job, doubt, joy and sadness of being the CMO in Atlantis in funny, "normal", sad and action packed scenes in which we glimpse into the daily life of a Doctor in Atlantis.

"Barbershop" and "Green-Eyed Monster" by kristen999

Title: Barbershop
Author: kristen999
Characters: John Sheppard, OC
Summary: He wanted to say a little off the top, but that was so cheesy.

Why rec'ed? This is a nice little ficlet about a visit at the barbers' but it tells us so much more about John than just how he likes his hair to be cut...

Title: Green Eyed Monster
Author: kristen999
Characters: OC, John Sheppard, Team (sort of)
Summary: You always want, what you can't have.

Why rec'ed? This ficlet shows the Team through the eyes of an OC but with a twist (once again I can't tell you more without giving away the plot *sorry*). I really like this story - it's different from the "normal" "John/Team-through-OC-eyes"-Stories but still very believeable.

End Game by Kristen999

Title: End Game
Author: kristen999
Characters: John, team
Summary: John is forced to fight for his life and the lives of his teammates. His opponent may be the most formidable he has ever faced... oh, and there’s also deadly radiation, freezing temps and hypoxia.

Why rec'd? I simply adore stories of survival and tactics, and this is the best I've read in a while. This is a fast-moving thrill ride, with the clock counting down on John's teammates while an implacable enemy hunts him in a deadly maze. This is the John Sheppard of Storm/Eye and Defiant One - smart and canny and resourceful to the last. I really loved it.

Rating: PG-15
Characters: Team
Summary: WWII-based AU. The Team as we know it has been transplanted to the South Pacific. Major John Sheppard, his navigator, Lt Rodney McKay, and his gunner, Sgt Ronon Dex, are stationed on the island of New Guinea on the eve of the island nation’s greatest battle. Native friend and sometime spy, Teyla Emmagan, aids the efforts against the Evil Axis powers.

why rec'd? because it's awesome, well researched, well written and our team fits perfectly in this WW2 tale. The action is the kind that really will have you on the edge of your seat. There are great team moments, friendship moments, and everyone gets their moment in the sun. Even if you're not a big fan of AUs, I still highly recommend that you give this story a chance, because it is definitely worth reading.
