Got home just in time to throw together some egg salad for dinner (the boys were having blueberry pancakes, which for me are verboten, and I made L cook them himself for a change, because he knows how, dammit) and hurried upstairs for Firefly at 7. Found Chaz watching the Red Sox/White Sox game and made him change the channel ("I've already seen this episode." "So have I, four times. What's your point?") and settled in for a night of SciFi Friday shows.

SPOILERS BEHIND ALL CUTS!!!

Firefly: )

Stargate SG-1 )

Wow, this is tiring. I need to write more often, I'm so out of shape.

Stargate: Atlantis )

Battlestar Galactica )

That's enough for now, I guess; anyone who agrees or more especially disagrees with me is more than welcome to do so in comments -- I need to talk about these shows!!

Coming soon: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince reactions!

Ahem.

Gorgeous day today; sun, birds, breeze, like that. I was up rather late (like, um, 3:41 a.m. was what the clock said when I closed my eyes) but somehow didn't sleep past 9. Now I'm showered and thinking about lunch, but what I really have to do is go home and touch base there, drop off the laptop and get some clean clothes, maybe talk to my kid some.

As you may have gathered from the subject line, tonight Alanna and friend P are joining me here at chez Noppet for dinner before the drive to Albany to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] jarlsberg71 and [livejournal.com profile] soobunny at Crossgates. Oh! Funny Firefly-related story ... last night [livejournal.com profile] osirusbrisbane and I were watching "Shindig" after Game Group and waiting for his friend B to appear. When B got there (it was maybe 10 or 15 minutes in; Zoe & Wash were in bed (which, mmmmmmmm)), he sat down and watched it with us with the very briefest of intros to the show (he'd never seen any Joss-verse show before). After it ended, he was like "Is the whole thing out on DVD? Where can I get this?" Hee. SO cool.

Ack! Must go and Do Stuff! Shop for dinner! Be Productive!

Okay, so apparently I completely missed the first two Firefly episodes after the pilot ("The Train Job" and "Bushwhacked"). I'm making up for the lack right now, and ... OMG I LOVE THIS FREAKING SHOW. When Zoe tells Jayne to shut up or he'll "scare the women," I about spit my coffee ... but she said it so dry that it took me a second. George Lucas could've stood to take a few lessons from this scriptwriting team.

Looks like a gorgeous day; too bad I have to spend it in an office behind a desk.

And now, I have to iron my shirt for work. Feh. (Or maybe throw it in the dryer with a damp towel ...)

It's entirely possible I'm the last person in Firefly fandom to have seen the trailer for Serenity but just in case ... go watch.

I've got goosebumps.
