Oct. 18th, 2022 10:09 pmOne of the creative decisions I made wrt my Omegaverse(s) is that, at least in the modern day and for most people, being trans on the male-female axis isn’t really that big of a deal. Usually, the perception is somewhere along the lines of “harmless quirk” or, at worst, like someone who gets a bunch of plastic surgeries to correct tiny bits of their appearance.
(Like; it’s weird that you care so much about such a tiny thing, but okay, you do you.)
(This is probably helped by A: the male/female distinction being almost completely irrelevant and B: that the vast majority of people, at least in M’s Omegaverses, are cis-by-default on the male-female gender axis.)
(Also, in some universes, people who are trans on the M-F axis and people who are trans on the A-B-O axis aren’t considered the same thing. The A-B-O axis trans people are trans and the M-F trans people are something else.)

yes, a/b/o caters to the inherent cishet fantasy of
> what if anime boys were lesbians
> what if anime boys have big fucking tits
> what if anime boys were dommes
> what if anime boys were tradwifes
> what if my otp had a bunch of cute kids
> what if i piled up all of my pillows and blankets and comfort objects in a nice little tiny space and got really cozy, like REALLY fucking cozy

Jul. 24th, 2021 01:48 pmi think the main reason i hate a lot of A/B/O issuefic is because a lot of it is written by people who think the entire thing is 50SOG-style dogfuck rapeworld nonsense written by people who're just mindlessly bashing the id button and who don't analyze the consequences of their worldbuilding, and then they think that their bargain-basement surface-level hey-isn't-this-fucked-up takes disguised as fic are Boundary-Pushing and Subversive and Have Never Been Done Before and it just pisses me off
like yes i know that Rape and Misogyny are Bad and that Consent and Kink Negotiation are Good. i am an adult. now, do you have anything interesting to say about gender? about bodily autonomy? reproductive rights? kink? queerness? worldbuilding? anything? anything interesting?

hiyori and ibara are both antifeminist Not Like Other Omegas but like on completely different ends of the spectrum
nagisa is an alpha but he is also Very Autigender
jun is a beta who wants to be an alpha, which is Definitely A Distinct Thing From Being Trans, You Guys (no, really, actually, it is./s he's got that alpha sub Gender Disillusionment, he's got those Combined Societal Pressures Of You Should Have Been Born An Alpha, he's got a lot of Baggage, is what i'm saying)

Jun. 29th, 2021 04:52 pmmy sort-of-omegaverse-headcanon is that in omegaverse land, queerness sort of exists on three separate axes. there's the "what gender(s) are you attracted to" and "what gender(s) are you" axes that exist in our world, but there's also the third axis of "what's your sexual orientation (in terms of dom/sub/switch)"
this means that i can not only write characters who are queer, i can write characters who are queer in ways that literally don't exist in this world, which is Very Inch Resting.

Jan. 10th, 2021 08:14 pmI'm thinking about the kinds of queerness that I like to see explored in fiction, and I keep coming back to this fucking Jrock Omegaverse fanfiction and one character from it in particular- Mitsuki.
(a note- in this post, i will be using the term "venusexual" to refer to omegas who are attracted to other omegas. this is a term i made up for my own omegaverse aus, also, i will be using the word "transmasculine" to refer a "trans-alphan"? identity.)
