Stand By Me Gender!Swap Casting

Hi, everyone! This is my first time checking out the LJ fanspot of one of my favorite movies. I hope there’s still love for this film going around. : )

So, there is a great fandom-wide meme where you switch the genders in the cast of a show/book/movie and whatever else you may fancy. I’m a longtime enthusiast of Stand by Me, and I thought it’d be cool seeing what female versions of our beloved characters might be like.

I picked actresses based on whether I thought they could pull off the character, and I partly based my choices on the original actors’s looks (note: partly! We can’t all have the bone structure that River Phoenix did!). The bottom link leads to the picspam at my journal:

Hey everyone! :D I just joined this community because, like you guys, I'm crazy in love with my favorite movie Stand By Me. Just every little thing about it is great. From the actors and thier chemistry with  the simple but deep story-line to Gordie and Chris' bromantic relationship and Teddy's adorkable glasses and fits of rage.. I love it all:) And this seems to be the only real community dedicated to it.


It just bums me out because this community seems so dead. Is it still active at all? The last thing posted on here was done more than a year ago and I don't know if any body is still out there.  But if so and there are still fans who are intrested, I have fanfics to offer and I'm really friendly. I love talking about this movie and writing for it! Seriously, the Stand By Me fandom feels abandoned and being one of the best movies ever made, it deserves to be as lively as  it once was.


Actually I have a fic all ready to go which I hope to post up soon.( It does not center on a  Mary-Sue BTW. I personally hate those.) But I need a beta who's familiar with the Stand By Me territory before I post it, so if anyone is intrested in helping me, I'd be very much appreciative. ^_^ English is definitely my first  language and I've been writing for many years so really I just need a quick once-over, a second opinion, and another persons honesty before I post anything. So if anyone wishes to help, just say so. Hell if anyone in general is still involved in this community, it'd make my day to talk to ya. haha.

Hello, I'm Hanna and I'm 15 years old. My mother was a huge fan of Stand By Me when she was a teen in the 80's, and I've loved this movie ever since I was 10.

My favorite character is definitely Ace. I love his cool, calm, and mean demeanor. He never loses his cool - Kiefer Sutherland is an amazing actor.

Favorite quote? "Why don't you cook your dick, it'll be a small meal!"
