Notes: Slightly AU (I had to tinker with timelines) in which John Winchester is a Marine serving on the same ship where Nathan Petrelli is a Navy aviator. Written for CEO a_cook’s day of power at the heroes_exchange Company Picnic.
Summary/Description: Nathan is desperately searching for something, and John has an idea of what it could be.

Nathan's shipmates saw him as a classy, disciplined kind of guy. Besides, he was an officer, and they didn’t need to see him here getting shit-faced with the locals. Nor did they need to know what else he usually did on shore leave.

Description of Challenges
- Fic Exchange - You fill out a form of what you can write and the type of fic you want and include your email. Once sign ups are over you are emailed your writing assignment and another person writes a fic for you. All fics are then posted, like getting "gifts"
- Weekly Prompts - A new prompt will be posted every week or two weeks. At the end of the prompts time all works for it will be gathered and put in a poll and people will vote for their favorite, the winners get banners.
- Comment Fic - A single post is made where people can comment with fic prompts (scenarios, pairings, etc) and other people can pick whatever prompt they want and write off it.
- Prompt/Fic - A post is made where people submit as many prompts as they want, then all prompts are gathered and posted in a new post. People then claim the prompts they want for fic or art and must finish something for that prompt in a given amount of time.

Round 3 of heroes_bigboom was now started and Author and Artist sign-ups are now open. The Heroes Big Boom brings fan fiction writers and artists together. Writers sign up to write a minimum of a 10,000 word story (or they can go with the more traditional big bang goal of 20,000 words) that is completed. Then they are paired with an artist who will create art for their story. All ratings, genres, and pairings are accepted. Sign up today!

Authors' notes: Beta'd by redandglenda. Written for sncross_bigbang. This is a sequel to The Secret's in the Telling. Prior knowledge of that story is encouraged, but not necessary for your enjoyment. If you haven't read it, here's the gist: Dean and Sam were thrown together with Peter and Nathan Petrelli, two brothers with unusual secrets, to track down a demon that was threatening them both. In the course of the investigation, they learned that they weren't the only evil-fighting brothers with a (ehem) close relationship.
Summary: Sam and Dean discover demons have been possessing people with special abilities that have nothing to do with magic. Peter draws a future that reunites him and Nathan with the Winchester brothers. Together they find out that specials--people whose powers come from an unusual inherited gene-- are being targeted for possession by a woman who is on the verge of breaking one of the sixty-six seals.
