Such a little thing makes such a big difference

Who: Florian Delacour, Cedric Diggory and a surprise guest appearance.
Where: London - aboard the Eurostar train - Paris - Delacours' estate - Club Crystal, Marseilles
When: August 12, a few hours later.
Warning: mpreg (don't read if you find the subject objectionable)

He didn't know how long he was lying there prostrated as slowly the realization dawned that his lover must have given up on waiting for him and went out to look for another man. The thought didn't make him jealous, he knew he and Cedric belonged to two different worlds now. And mortals' memory was made to forget.

X-post - Frozen - by emeraldandscarlet

Who: Florian
Where: flying from London to Scottish Highlands
When: same day, July 1997
Song post (Frozen, lyrics by Within Temptation)

I can't feel my senses
I just feel the cold
All colors seem to fade away
I can't reach my soul
I would stop running, if I knew there was a chance
It tears me apart to sacrifice it all but I'm forced to let go

Hurrying away from Diagon Alley, his boots clopping against the sidewalk, Florian made his way back to his bike.
He swung his leg over the bike and revved the engine, listening to the hum of its tuned perfection. Then he pulled out onto Charing Cross Road, gunned it and sped off. It was still early in the morning, muggle London was just waking up, the double-decker buses stood mute by the corner and there was almost no traffic on the road.
He briefly wondered if Cedric was still sleeping at this hour and what it would have felt like to wake up next to him but he quickly shook off these thoughts. If he could see Cedric at that moment, Florian reminded himself, he probably would have seen him snuggled up to Draco, with happy satisfied grins on both of their faces. The wind ruffling his spiky hair, Florian bit his lips and pushed the throttle into full afterburner and smoothly pulled back on the control yolk, lifting his bike off the street into the air.
Looking down, Florian could feel the tears filling his eyes as his heart clutched and he mentally waved his goodbye to this city.

X-post - Owling You by emeraldandscarlet

Who: Florian
Where: Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley
When: the morning after (July 1997)

When he woke up on the next morning, Florian yawned, throwing back the sheets that he had been underneath, he had only slept for a few hours, and he knew he wouldn't be able to doze off again.
So he got up and got dressed in a hurry, lightly tossing his hair with some gel, and not even bothering with the eyeliner. He paused only for a moment to cast a teethbrushing spell, grabbed his belongings and slipped quietly down the stairs to the pub.

X-post - A Cold Night In July by shiremancer and emeraldandscarlet

Who: Cedric & Florian & Draco
Where: Cedric's flat
When: Someday in July 1997

It was dark outside and the air was cold on his bare, sweaty skin.
They had just gotten Florian's belongings and were now walking down
alleyways to way Cedric lived. He had never liked taking taxis and
didn't like apparating after dark now that the Death Eaters were at
large and tracking every magical movement. He didn't look at him or
speak.

X-post - At Your Bedside by shiremancer and emeraldandscarlet

Who: Florian & Cedric
Where: St.Mungos
When: Someday in July 1997

The narrow alley was dark and silent except for the monotonous
splashing of rain against the ground. The moon and the skies were
covered with thick black clouds. An echo sounded throughout the walls
of the abandoned houses, the sound of footsteps was getting louder
with every passing moment. His own footsteps. He was running. He did
not dare to look behind, he knew he couldn't afford wasting one single
precious second to slow down. Because in silence, except for his own
steps, he could hear a rattling sound and smell the pungent odor
approach. Suddenly, his way got blocked by a tall hooded figure, and
he knew it was all over. His mind was telling him to pull out the wand
but his hand was paralyzed. The dementor lowered his hood and Florian
could see the gaping black hole that was the creature's mouth. He
screamed. And woke up, the cold sweat drops on his brow.
Florian was shaking all over, and in his confusion, caused by his
repeating nightmare, he bolted upright as he saw a shadow in the dim
light of the room. He was surprised to see Cedric beside him, was it
just another vision of his troubled mind, he thought as he reached out.

X-post - The Way Things Are (joint post) - by emeraldandscarlet and shiremancer

Who: Florian & Cedric
Where: St.Mungos
When: Three days later

There was something about the air at St.Mungos that filled him with
dread and coldness. He glanced at his co-workers, searching their eyes
for the same emotions he was feeling, but didn't see anything. A
pleasantly plump blond healer smiled at him, he didn't return the
smile. "Cedric, my boy, we got another one in today." Cedric spun
around and stared at the head healer. The healer's lips were turned
down into a gentle frown. "It seems to be another Death Eater attack."
Cedric nodded, urging him to go on. "We didn't find any identification
on him, but we're hoping you would recognize him from your years at
Hogwarts. He seems to be your age. He's in room 422, he's been in a
coma for the last three days, but is showing more signs of brain
activity lately." Cedric just nodded again, not really paying
attention. His mind had been elsewhere for the past week. He walked
lifelessly toward room 422.

X-post - Flashing before his eyes - Cedric & Florian - by emeraldandscarlet and shiremancer

Who: Florian;  fb: Florian and Cedric
Where: Chateau Saint Martin, Delacours' Estate, France;  fb: Hufflepuff common room, Hogwarts
When: July 1997;  fb: September 1995
(fb = flashback)

The night before his departure, Florian finally broke down. He was standing in the middle of his room, amid piles of stuff – clothes, books, sleeping bag, his potion making supplies. Not a single thing was packed. He was so overwhelmed, utterly paralyzed. He had a vague idea of what to do next. The only safe place he knew, besides home, was Hogwarts but for obvious reasons he couldn't go back there. He often reflected on his time in Britain, after graduating, he spent a couple of weeks with his cousin Fleur in London, as she was working at Gringotts at the time, and he would go out every night partying in Soho with the muggles. He tried to avoid Diagon Alley and the Wizarding part of that city at any cost, out of fear of running into Cedric and his boyfriend. Why did his thoughts always drift to Cedric? A flood of memories overwhelmed Florian.  And with the memories came the pain.
