Letter under construction; please pardon the dust. (I may make additions up until assignments go out, at which point I will stop.)

I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] Sheliak on AO3 too.

Treats are enabled and welcome.

I'm a slow commenter, so please don't take the lack of a comment early on as an indication I hate what you made me!

For this exchange I'm requesting art for all fandoms.

    General Likes:
  • Time travel, including: time travel fixit; time travel with the glorious angst of knowing you're overwriting your future to give the past a chance; time travel that results in forming new kinds of relationships with people, like becoming friends with someone who was an enemy in the old timeline.
  • Strict honor codes.
  • Worldbuilding.
  • Alien POV.
  • A sense of wonder.
  • Loyalty.
  • Characters temporarily putting aside their weapons or sources of power as a show of trust.
  • Best enemies, who might kill each other someday but fundamentally respect and trust each other, perhaps more than they do their nominal allies. Rivals and enemies becoming friends, or allies, or lovers, or swearing loyalty to one another.
  • Kneeling. Physical gestures of loyalty or affection.
  • Unexpected mercy. Mercy in general, too.
  • Heroism in desperate straits, characters choosing to be heroic even in a dystopia or doomed world.
  • Magical abilities/superpowers in daily life.

  • Time Travel Likes
  • Time travel fixit.
  • Time travel with the glorious angst of knowing you're overwriting your future to give the past a chance.
  • Time travel that results in forming new kinds of relationships with people, like becoming friends with someone who was an enemy in the old timeline.
  • Crack pairings that suddenly make perfect sense due to time travel!
  • Characters gaining a new perspective--on other people, history, themselves, etc.
  • Characters who were neglected in canon getting to shine, including but not limited to those characters using their knowledge of the future to achieve great things.
  • In action series, characters using their future knowledge to become totally badass (especially when it's a female character doing this).

  • Worldbuilding Likes:
  • Culture! I really love a piece that gets into the POV of the culture it's depicting.
  • Family structure. How do people see their relationships? Which ones do they prioritize?
  • Craft details!
  • Clothing, cloth, fibers, weaving, spinning... Also jewelry. Who wears it? What does it indicate (e.g., gender, status, ...?)
  • Architecture, how homes and public buildings reflect a culture.
  • Food! What do people eat? How do they store food for the times when they can't farm/hunt/forage for more? Do they trade for food?

  • Hurt/Comfort Likes:
  • Leaders slowly earning the trust of traumatized people who have every reason to fear the worst from the world in general and possibly them in particular.
  • A character is disparaged by their own allies, but an unlikely person (such as an honorable enemy or captor) recognizes their excellence and tells them so.
  • I already mentioned unexpected mercy, but it goes here too: I love a buildup of fear and then relief, mercy from someone who (as far as the character knows) has absolutely no reason to be merciful.
  • Characters who have no mercy for themselves, but can have it for others, or whose friends and lovers disagree with their self-judgement.
  • Characters pushing themselves to their limits and beyond, and others being there to catch them when they do.
  • Characters going to great lengths to help one another.
  • The less-hurt person also being in some distress, and struggling with it, and perhaps taking comfort in their own ability to help others.
  • Characters who are convinced that they don't matter and no one cares learning that actually someone does care and does think they matter.
  • Rescues! Rescues where the rescuee is convinced no one's coming, implacable rescuers overcoming terrible obstacles to save their friends/lovers.

Crossover Fandom (Transformers Shattered Glass x Transformers G1 & IDW)

Notes:
  • If you go for the / pairs and want to write smut: I'm fine with any kind of transformers sex (though I do think virginity seals are silly, so if you go for sticky please leave those out).
  • I don't have strong feelings about seeker trine fanon but I'm aware they're not canon, so please your self about including that or not.

    Pairings:
  • Any Shattered Glass Decepticon(s) (Transformers Shattered Glass) & Optimus Prime (Transformers G1)
  • Any Shattered Glass Decepticons (Transformers Shattered Glass) & Ratchet (Transformers G1)
  • Hook (Transformers Shattered Glass) & Ratchet (Transformers G1)
  • Jazz (Transformers G1) & Soundwave (Transformers Shattered Glass)
  • Jazz (Transformers G1)/Soundwave (Transformers Shattered Glass)
  • Ratchet (Transformers G1) & Soundwave (Transformers Shattered Glass)

  • Freeforms:
  • Captured by the Mirrorverse Good Guy Counterparts of Your Enemies
  • Aftermath of Torture - Character trying to hold it together is clearly low-key fraying at the edges
  • Attempting to trade sex for safety. Is denied and given safety anyway
  • Character A must pretend to be about to rape/torture Character B to rescue B
  • Dimensional Travel - Having To Impersonate Alternate Evil Version of Self
  • Hurt/Comfort - Enemy branded A as their property; B accidentally sees the mark on A's skin
  • Hurt/Comfort - Fully Expecting Hurt But Getting Comfort Instead
  • Hurt/Comfort - Rescued from botched execution
  • Unexpected Mercy - Character Expects to be Tortured and/or Killed; Begs Mercy For Another
  • Warprize - A is given to B as a war prize; B is horrified

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • I love the id factor of having to rescue the sweet mirrorverse good guy versions of your enemies from the horrifying mirrorverse versions of your friends.
  • Also the idea of having to impersonate your evil self (with advice from your not-evil not-enemy kinda-prisoner, who has a much better idea of how your evil self acts)!
  • And the SG Autobots are terrifying, so I’d be very into the SG Decepticons being terrified of the nice Autobots when they meet them!
  • I do like both canon Shattered Glasses, but you can go continuity soup too, I don’t mind. (But I’m really fond of the Starscream and Megatron who are specifically academics who wound up running a resistance movement, and of Sir Soundwave.) Also fine with general G1-ish continuity soup for the not-SG characters

  • Request 2

    Relationship:
  • Combaticons (Transformers G1) & Megatron (Transformers Shattered Glass)
    Freeforms:
  • Transformers - Slave Coding
  • Hurt/Comfort - Fully Expecting Hurt But Getting Comfort Instead
  • all characters are doing their best; situation is still very stressful
  • Villains Terrified of Dangerous but Well-Meaning Hero
  • Mistreated Villain Switches Sides; Surprised To Be Treated Kindly by Heroes; Loyalty Ensues

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • Okay, how would the whole “reprogrammed to be loyal to G1 Megatron” thing work with encountering an AU version of Megatron?
  • I'm super into the slave coding trope, both as whump with an evil "master" and as a justification for slavefic h/c tropes with a good guy in charge.
  • I’m certain SG Megatron would be horrified by this situation… and wouldn’t that be surreal for the Combaticons?
  • (I do like general G1-ish continuity soup, but I also like math professor SG Megatron. And I am also amused by the idea of the professional soldier Combaticons realizing that this is a resistance movement run by academics. How are they not dead! … Wait, why do they object to the idea of them dying?)

  • Request 3

    Pairings:
  • Optimus Prime (Transformers IDW) & Shockwave (Transformers IDW Shattered Glass)
  • Optimus Prime (Transformers IDW)/Shockwave (Transformers IDW Shattered Glass)

  • Freeforms:
  • Meeting a non-evil version of someone who has hurt you & having to deal with that
  • Dimensional Travel - Having To Impersonate Alternate Evil Version of Self
  • Hurt/Comfort - Fully Expecting Hurt But Getting Comfort Instead

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • For my other Transformers crossover requests I’m fine with continuity soup, but here I have specific versions in mind because I want to roll around in the shadowplay trauma and that’s only canon in two specific places.
  • So both IDWSG and IDW Shockwave suffered empurata and shadowplay, but the shadowplay had opposite effects—SG Shockwave is still nice, just even more emotional. Knowing what he could’ve become if it had worked as intended would be traumatic! Horrifying! (… Boggling, given the claim to logic and then the black hole thing!)
  • For Optimus: this is the friend and mentor he couldn’t save, who faced a horrible fate for trying to work within a broken system and who then turned into a terrifying enemy. And here he is, having suffered something similar but come through it far more like the person he used to like/admire/love…
  • And meanwhile from Shockwave’s point of view: this is the ex-friend who betrayed him and did that to him! The enemy he’s been fighting against ever since! (And sure this Optimus has his flaws but he’d be horrified at his SG self.)
  • And both of them could expect the worst from a version of their enemy/friend who has good reason to hate them.

  • building a civilization from the ground up

  • Character with Redemption Arc is hurt Protecting Ally who used to be Enemy

  • Shapeshifting as Art
  • Shapeshifting as reclamation of body after noncon body modification/maiming
  • Stone or Bronze Age Setting
  • Worldbuilding - mythology
  • Loyalty kink - devotion to person includes total faith in their goals/beliefs and a desire to see them made real
  • Character A is delirious and begs B for forgiveness for something B bears no grudge for
  • Character A sacrifices themself for Character B because they think B is more important/valuable/good

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • General likes here—Loyalty! Idealism! God-eating! Loving descriptions of fleshcrafting! The interplay of being Ion’s disciples while also being people learning how to live in an unfamiliar culture! Daily life in the fleshcrafting Bronze Age!
  • These characters live to see themselves become the saints of the religion they/their beloved Ion founded—what’s that like, being a figure of myth and seeing that mythology develop around you?
  • The three older Klavigars were originally Daevon, culturally—they built the Kalmaktama Empire but were always outsiders to Adytum. That’s a bittersweet contrast and I’d love to see more of it.
  • For Orok, I'm really intensely into the slave gladiator/bodyguard part of his backstory—I found the tale in which pre-Ion he had exactly one experience of someone being nice to him super iddy. How does he adjust to the rebellion after that? To “normal” life in Adytum? To being allowed to have opinions and preferences, to having people care about him as a person and not a tool?
  • I find him most interesting when he’s culturally Daevite, like Nadox and Lovataar—are they drawn to each other because of that, especially as time goes on and more and more of Ion’s followers grow up Kalmaktama (even Saarn, kind of)? All of them are foreign to the empire they built and the paradise they hope for…
  • At first Orok is deeply suspicious of Lovataar (reasonable!) and later they’re friends—I’d like to see them bonding, either of them trying to help the other. (I also adore their idea of sparring.)
  • Was Orok similarly suspicious of Nadox at first? Nadox never held power in the old empire, but he was a free Daevite. On the other hand he’s still visibly marked as Daevite outcast—does that make things easier?
  • Nadox was maimed in a Daevite punishment; Orok was subjected to nonconsensual medical experimentation/procedures—what does it mean to them to be able to shapeshift now, to have total control over the body that once belonged to someone else? What do they choose to keep, and what are they glad to discard?
  • Orok and Halyna—she’s an outsider, verging on outcast, in the Kalmaktama; he was her mentor, and it seems like the one person she listened to. How did that relationship develop? She joined as an adult—was it strange for him to teach someone else Kalmaktama ways, not just fighting and fleshcrafting but the culture? Did he blame himself for how things turned out? What did he think of her batshit-even-for-Sarkics theology? She's a terrifying force of nature and also a loose cannon; would love to see her growing into that.
  • I love Lovataar’s conflict as a Daevite noblewoman who gave everything she knew up for Ion and the Kalmaktama, who struggles with culture shock and self-hatred, but still holds onto some Daevite things (her golden jewelry, for one).
  • The idea of Lovataar going undercover in the Daevite Empire, as exactly the kind of evil noblewoman she really used to be, is delicious to me. (Especially if Orok or Nadox reach out to her afterwards and she’s shocked because she expects them to hate her as much as she hates herself. Also especially if she has to pretend to betray or harm them, and it sends her into a guilt spiral that she’s surprised they care about.)
  • This woman who thinks of herself as inherently evil (even before she switched sides!) is also the classic redemption story for a religion. I wonder if figuring that out was a step towards accepting herself.
  • Saarn grew up in Ion’s empire—how much did the other Klavigars help raise her? Did they envy her getting to belong to the culture they never quite felt like they were part of? Were there times when she explained things that they hadn’t realized, even after being there longer?
  • Is there a point at which the Klavigars realize they’re not only the survivors of their beloved Adytum, but the last survivors of hated Daevon?

  • Sun Sword

    Relationship:
  • Elena Tamaraan/Telakar (Sun Sword)

  • Freeforms:
  • Latching magical enslavement onto ally as last resort to prevent enemy having control
  • Women With Absolute Power Over Men

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • Their situation at the end of the series? Straight out of my id. He’d had the upper hand in their dealings before that, but he also set things up so that when he was mind controlled she’d have the chance to magically enslave him before he killed her. (And then he does say that he wants her dead for that—but this is after he had a very clear choice between killing her and this situation, and he chose to be magically enslaved!)
  • It is so gloriously fucked up and I want so much more. I love femdommy power dynamics and I love the whole thorny implications of him putting himself under her power even though he knew he’d want her dead afterwards. I would really just like to roll around in those implications.
  • How did he decide what he was going to do? How do they manage with each other afterwards? Their whole plotline seemed like setup for something, and I'm really curious about what...
  • I'm also really into them saving each other's lives.
  • There are also parallels between what Telakar did with Elena and what Isladar did with Kiriel—obviously those are very different relationships, of course, and Isladar has a grand plan—but it's there.
  • I love all the emotional weirdness with the demons, and the ways that despite being alien some of them do clearly care for specific humans.

  • Vespertine

    Notes:
  • Despite the AO3 canonical, this is a single relatively short book.
  • I've requested this fandom previously.

  • Relationships:
  • Artemisia & the Revenant & Any Other Surviving Revenant & Vespertine Candidate (Vespertine)
  • Artemisia & the Revenant & Any Other Surviving Revenant & Traditional Vespertine (Vespertine)
  • Artemisia & the Revenant & Any Other Surviving Revenant (Vespertine)

  • Freeforms:
  • Deeply Traumatized Eldritch Monsters
  • Reforming Organization from Within

  • Prompts/Thoughts:
  • Artemisia’s revenant is kinda traumatized from having been imprisoned in the relic/the previous traditional vespertines. I bet so are the other surviving revenants!
  • I'd love to see Artemisia and the revenant meeting with another revenant—maybe Artemisia the living saint has enough authority in the church to push for reforms in the way spirits are treated?
  • How does a human go about talking with a spirit not bound to her? Does Artemisia have to let another revenant possess her—what does her revenant think of that? Or does someone else volunteer, or does she have to go through an existing, traditional vespertine?
  • Maybe Artemisia has to convince a traditional vespertine to try treating her revenant kindly? (Would a traditional vespertine be horrified, or would she instead envy/want the kind of bond Artemisia and her revenant have? Or both?)
  • Okay, Artemisia becoming the next fantasy pope would be self-indulgent (… by which I mean me-indulgent) but also cool. And hey, who wouldn’t want a living saint as their fantasy pope? (Lots of people, I’m sure, for various political reasons…) But in that situation she would DEFINITELY have the power to change the way the other revenants are treated.
  • On the other hand, without that kind of position, does Artemisia have to worry about being seen as a heretic, or does her sainthood protect her?
  • Would a traditional vespertine (or a traditionally trained candidate) be in awe of Artemisia's sainthood, or would they be frightened by all the ways in which she breaks from those traditions?
  • Does the revenant actually know what happened to the rest of its brethren? Maybe it's wrong about e.g. Cahethal having committed suicide—maybe it escaped with its vessel instead.
  • The other revenants would presumably be pretty annoyed with the main one for its part in setting up their current situation.
  • I really love the relationship Artemisia and her revenant have—it reminds her to eat! she comforts it when it's scared of the dark!—and it'd be such a contrast to a more "normal" revenant-vespertine relationship. And maybe that’s something that a traditional vespertine and her revenant could find themselves envying… even aspiring to.
