Long-time members of this comm know that my favorite comm mods outside of this comm are shadowserenity and obaona. They run our sister LIMS comms -- and two LIMS are open for sign-ups RIGHT NOW! There's plenty of time to sign up and make your icons.

They're truly our sister communities: they have multiple caps for each challenge & the caps are posted well ahead of time. The comms are well-run with timely mods and attract lots of stunningly talented makers.

Round 2 of our sister LIMS, frontier_lims, is open now through Monday, August 23rd. It's run by shadowserenity, who created the template that we use for this community. She's one of my favorite mods because her comms have great challenges and are run on time. If you have any interest in Star Trek (and I'm kind of assuming that most of us are sci fi geeks who do) then this should be just the comm for you! Check it out!

It is my very great pleasure to announce that we have another sister LIMS, this one dedicated to Star Wars. This should be an especially fascinating LIMS because it's drawing from multiple media sources: movies, comics, and even video games. If it's Star Wars, it's fair game.

The community is run by obaona, so you know it's going to be well run. And since it's a sister LIMS, you also know that multiple caps are given in advance for each challenge. The caps for the first 5 challenges are already posted.

Not only can you sign up to participate, but you can volunteer photography, volunteer to make a banner, brainstorm for topics, and many other things. I'll be waiting to hear from the to-be-born-any-day-now LIMS comms for Chris Judge, Ben Browder, and Claudia Black. ;)

We're happy to announce ANOTHER new sister LIMS: rdanderson_lims. Please check out this cool new group focusing on Jack Richard Dean Anderson. I'm given to understand that there might exist some SG-1 fans whose enthusiasm might not extend to Macgyver or RDA in general -- who knew such a thing was even possible?!? -- so if any of our members are Jack-only fans, you should rest assured that cap selection each week will include some Jack.

I don't know if shadowserenity had any idea just how popular her format would be in fandom but I like to think of the blossoming of our sisterhood of LIMS as a credit to the much lamented lantis_lims.
