Second Saturday

This coming weekend is the NORCAL NOISEFEST, one of the longest-running experimental music festivals in the country and Sacramento's best reason to wear earplugs.

This year's Noisefest includes about 40 bands from across the continent, mostly from northern California, but all from the outer edges of the musical world.

A little preview of this year's NORCAL NOISEFEST 2005 at Luna's, featuring a variety of local noise performers, ranging from jazzy psychedelia to power electronics to dark ambient. SMITE is my solo project and is considerably different from my main project, UBERKUNST. I probably won't break anything.

I feel that it seems more and more galleries are just desperate to show anyone's work off.

Not that I'm saying Sac has poor quality artists, it's just that it appears to me that more locations want to join the Second Saturday businesses and there is a lack of artists(?).

I think second saturday may implode soon if the art community doesn't do something. it's like everyone will be showing anything just to get you to go inside of their barber shop or liquor store.

So... I just thought I would post an update to that MISSING GIRL post that I posted a while ago..

Some of you may have seen articles in the paper and bits on the news about Bari, but if you haven't, I would just like to follow up and say that the FBI ended up working on the case, and they found her staying in a house in Ohio. [Yeah, far away...] She was apparently staying with a 38-year-old man, among other adults, and other minors, too. It was apparently some sort of cult, and Bari was brainwashed when we got her back. [Yes, her parents flew to Ohio and brought her back. She's in some sort of lockdown right now, and getting de-brainwashed.] The adults she was with are all going to be on trial to spend the rest of their lives in prison, so that they can't do this to any other teenage girl again.

Anyway, I would just like to thank those of you who kept an eye out and looked for her, and to those of you who prayed for her return.
