San Diego Objectivist Network

Hi, my name is Christopher Luntkowski-Stojewa and I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in an Objectivism community group. Myself and Shekhar Deshpande are starting an Objectivism community group here in the San Diego area and we're looking for others who appreciate Ayn Rand's philosophy.

    Our first meeting will be a dinner at the Grand Del Mar this Thursday, the 27th, at six o'clock. We will actually be meeting in the hotel lobby where they serve drinks and appetizers. We chose to meet here because we will be able to talk in the lobby.

    The resort's address is 5299 Meadows Del Mar, San Diego, CA 92130. To get to the lobby, go up the resort's driveway, past the security gates, take the first right and follow this road to get to the lobby. Shekhar has offered to pay for all but 20$ of each person's meal.

    Shekhar and I have agreed that we'd like three basic activities to be a part of our community group: socializing, discussion, and political activism. How much time we spend doing these comes down to what the members of our group would like, these activities are merely what Shekhar and I are interested in. Thus the activities our group will do will be discussed at our first meeting.

That's Friday, January 21st @ 7PM, Barnes & Noble of Mira Mesa, special area
toward front of store. Parking Tip: You'll find it easiest to park in the other shopping center
(because it doesn't have a movie theater!), by the Rubio's & Jamba or
down toward the Home Depot.

This event tonight looks certainly interesting -- from at least a couple
perspectives.

The San Diego Civil Liberties Society is putting
on a talk with the author of "The Passion of Ayn
Rand's Critics," James Valiant. James, one of the
first people allowed to review a good portion of
Ayn's personal writing, will be discussing his
forthcoming book, Thursday January 20th at 6pm.

Jessica was last seen being smuggled out of San Diego by a pack of
bears in odd gold and blue outfits. This leaves us, Rob and Star, as
your new happy-go-lucky moderators. In honor of this, Labor Day,
and the fact that no plans to the contrary have been made, SD
Futurists will not be meeting this coming Friday.

SD Futurists will be returning next month to focus on Extreme
Physics!

Hi all,

This weekend Scott Schneider, aka scottsch via LJ, will be visiting San Diego.

For those of you who don't know Scott he was a former Boston Objectivist Network moderator/host as well as monkey antic fool!

Come to meet and greet him at India Palace in Hillcrest at 11:30am on Sunday!

Afterwards he'll be showing off his likeness to captive monkies at the San Diego Zoo! For those interested please meet outside the Zoo at 1:30pm.
