Hello anon!! A Tale of Thousand Stars definitely does have some sad and angsty elements. As of now, it’s still ongoing so it’s not totally clear what the ending will be like. But!! The show is based off of a novel, which can help give us some clues…

AHHH i’m so happy you liked it!! 😭 3 Will Be Free is the kind of show that really just gives you everything. like. it’s fun. it’s emotional. it’s action-packed. it’s appropriately dramatic. it’s got great costume design. AND it’s one of the most unapologetically queer shows i’ve seen!!!

like… if you told me a year ago i’d be watching an “escape the mafia” roadtrip show with a canon polytriad romance between a himbo sex worker, a hot foul-mouthed woman, and a soft mafia prince… i don’t think i would have believed that existed. when you add in a trans secondary protagonist on a revenge quest it’s just incredible. god bless 3wbf 🙏

when shin had that gun though… oh man that hurt me so bad. neo trying desperately to convince shin to shoot him instead of miw. miw trying to do the same for neo. shin sobbing and finally trying to shoot his father instead. but the gun isn’t loaded. 😭😭😭 like. they engineered THE most heart wrenching ot3 moment imaginable. 

and then when mae arrives and solves the problem (queen shit), we get shin crying over his father’s body while his boyfriend and girlfriend comfort him, bc even though his dad was terrible he was still his dad. and he’s allowed to have that grief. tay acted the FUCK out of that scene. ugh… this show is excellent.
