Handmade!
It's my very own
kormantic's birthday today. I wish her all things fabulous and wonderful, but since she already has a sno-cone machine, there's nothing she could possibly want from me!
So, instead, I made her a drabbly little fic, with my own two hands. And Dawn Marie, baby, you may have read this before, but I cleaned it up all pretty just for you! Smooches.

The school's library was clean and quiet and looked untouched by student hands. The only sign of life was the teacup resting on a stack of leather-bound books.
"Hello?" Mulder peered into the office, but the voice came from behind him.
"Hm, yes, how may I help you?"
The distracted tone was familiar. Mulder turned.
A man came down the stairs, studying a book he carried in both hands. He wore a three piece suit of brown tweed and Mulder had a sudden urge to dip his fingers into the vest pocket to see if a watch was hidden there.
He looked up from the book, wire-rim glasses about to slip off his hawk-like nose, and Mulder's breath caught, that rainy Oxford pub rushing back.
"Ripper?"

This doesn't really have more though. It's just a lone potato chip. Tasty, then gone.

On a side note (I think this is pretty darn cool so excuse me while I blather): Many years ago, back in the dark ages of latter junior high when I had first discovered The X-Files, I was roaming the web in search of someone else who recognized the deep and desperate love between our two lonely agents. I found the Finis Romantics Something or Other, which contained something called "fan fiction." Naturally I had to investigate. Your "Moot Point" series was one of, if not the, very first pieces of fan fiction I ever read. So impressed was I that I printed two of them out and took them off to school to me to show to all my friends. Fast forward to present day minus a month or two -- I've read enough fanfic to fill all 40 gigs of my hard drive, and I'm looking for something decent to read in my newest fandom, Smallville. Preferably something CLexy. (All that Mulder/Scully drivel has probably burned me out on het forever.) I follow some recs page to "Interstitial," which had nice things like plot, character development, and no Lana. I read along, quite, pleased. La la la. Nice happy ending. Smile. Glance at stuff at the bottom of the page. Do a double take. Punk Maneuverability? That Punk Maneuverability? The one whose fan fiction I have in that ugly orange folder in the trunk by my bed?
Everything comes in circle.
