Is Mitsunari checking out Ieyasu's packa

In which I bitch about Wikipedia, because I feel like it. :P

I really don't like the way Wikipedia deals with a lot of Japanese...things. There are three main issues I have with them: nonsensical Romanizations, westernizing names, and prioritizing English titles of Japanese works.

tl;dr

I subscribe to a philosophy of "Conservation of Translation". If something doesn't NEED to be changed, it shouldn't be.

Far more importantly, I don't believe Americans are too stupid to understand simple concepts like Eastern name order. Nor are we so xenophobic we have to be protected from scary foreign stuff like non-Westernized names or Japanese titles (or Japanese culture, for that matter).

Also, I am really baffled by the seeming hatred most people have for the letter "u". O.o

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Improbable and ridiculous Romanizations.

No, moron linguists, おう (ou) and おお (oo) do NOT make the same sound, stop Romanizing them as if they do. Ie. both as "oo", or "oh", or even worse "o". Or...

Neither ō nor ô (or ū, for うう/uu) are actually used in standard English spelling, for the love of God, stop shoehorning them into Roamazations that don't need it!

Also, and I'm especially looking at you here Wikipedia, it is Family Name then Given Name. Seriously Wikipedia, you do it correctly for Chinese names, you do it right for Korean Names, you do it properly for classic Japanese names, why the fuck don't you do it right for modern Japanese name?!?!
