Veterans’ Gateway

The first point of contact for veterans seeking support. We put veterans and their families in touch with the organisations best placed to help with the information, advice and support they need – from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more.

The Royal British Legion

The Legion is here to help members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families. And we’re not going anywhere. We support serving and ex-serving personnel all year round, every day of the week. Our support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over.

Blind Veterans UK

Blind Veterans UK helps ex-Service men and women of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss. Since 1915 we’ve provided rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to tens of thousands of blind veterans.

SSAFA

Our support covers both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, including anyone who has completed National Service. They are all entitled to lifelong support from SSAFA, no matter how long they have served.

Army Benevolent Fund

We are a grant-making charity, supporting 70,000 people in around 60 countries each year. We do this by awarding grants to individuals and families, and providing essential funding to around 90 charities and organisations that support the Army family. When we hear of a person or family in need, we aim to respond within 48 hours.

BLESMA

We are the only national Service charity that supports limbless veterans for the duration of their lives, offering financial and emotional support to them and their families. Since WW1 we have worked tirelessly to guarantee that our limbless veterans are not failed, forgotten or to left to fend for themselves.

Combat Stress

Combat Stress are the UK's leading charity for Veterans mental health. For over a century, it has been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today they provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service.

F4H

F4H is a charitable organisation designed specifically to offer support to service leavers and veterans who may find their transition to civilian life a challenge. Once a military career has ended, a minority of our servicemen and women struggle to re-adjust to life as a civilian, the consequence of which can lead to lack of direction and poor choices. For some this might manifest itself as simple anxiety and nervousness about their future. However, for a few it may be the start of a downwards spiral, beginning with a loss of identity and purpose that leads to a way of life that progresses to disillusionment, uncertainty and/or loneliness. Homelessness, self-harming and depression may follow, with dependency and crime thereafter. Prison may then beckon and ultimately – for a small number – suicide might be considered. Our delegates may find themselves anywhere on this spectrum. We are here to help…
