My Hair: A Progress Update

So, it has been one whole month since the big day, and it has certainly flown past.

I have to admit that shaving off all my hair has been a miserable experience for me, not only because of the demoralizing effect of being called a dyke, and being jeered at (surprisingly often :( - makes me woder about the poor folk with cancer that get the same jibes) but also because it makes me feel less feminine. I mean, I never was one for being very girly, but my hair always made me feel more confident, more socially accepted.

I don't regret doing it, I'm glad I could help charity, but I wish I had thought about the aftermath a bit more. Some people can be very very cruel. On the other hand though, I have been able to raise even more money from people who come in to say congratulations (they read about it in the local press) and I got a hand signed letter from the director of TLPT which made my day. I have pinned that up beside my unsung hero of the month nomination I got from work.

I'm sure I'll feel a lot happier about my new 'do when it grows in a bit more, but until then I have some updating to do, so here it is:

Overall my hair is now 2.8cm/1.03in long, so it's coming in pretty quickly, which is nice.
It will just take 2.5 years to get it back to its starting length... *sigh*
Oh well!

love you guys,

here's to the baldy!

I know I haven't updated in a long long time, but I thought I'd share this minor triumph with you guys, I guess it makes me feel good about me, so of course I'm gonna pimp it a wee bit!
I have to sponsor a charity in work, and they usually choose The Caron Keating Foundation, it's the charity set up by Gloria Hunniford after her daughter died of cancer. We couldn't think of a way to raise tons of money so I suggested waxing our boyfriends/husbands... but since I have neither of those things at the moment I thought I'd be getting off kind lightly, so I decided to shave all my hair off instead. When I said this all the girls in work protested, but it seemed the waxing the boys idea kinda got forgotten about, so it was left up to me... This is the article that was put into the local rag...

There were also some photos that my dad took of the event... haha

And this is the end result....

As you can see, I kinda like it... or at least I'm glad that I done it... I'm happy to help raise money for charity and I'm really happy that a child who is suffering can benefit from my donation, and I hope they like their new hair do.

Love and hugs to all of you guys,
Take care,
Romana xx
