Hello my quiet little community! How have we all been!? Facebook taking over our lives and keeping us from Livejournal!? Or have we all just been out there *points at big scary world outside the window*

Anyway, so question for you all - Yesterday I was listening to "Manhole" which is just ... ugh, speaks to me on so many levels! I got to my favorite line "But you can't fool the queen baby cause I married the king" and I heard it with new ears for the first time ... How do you take that line?

I used to hear it as if she was saying "Just because you're the best at what you do does not mean you can fool me because after all, I'm the best at what I do!" or something close to that and I LOVED the thought of that line ... but yesterday I heard it as "Just because I married you (King) does not mean you can fool me (Queen)" ... or something like that

(Forgive I'm in a rush to get out the door and have hardly any coffee in me yet)

How do you take this line? Any other lines/songs that seem different to you after many listens?

So, whatcha think of the new album?

I don't like the electric guitar but it's good otherwise. She's definitely changed, the whole album has a very settled feel to it. To me at least. I can't help but think she's close to "quitting"-"...don't think me wrong if I quit your spotlight..." and "...I don't want to strive for nothing anymore/I just want to lie here with you..." are a few lyrics that make me wonder but then these songs are "old" so what do I know?

How has she been live? I haven't seen her in a couple years...

i preordered ani's new album, and rbr sent me some codes to stream it before it comes out next week. i have 3 left and thought someone here might be interested. the official instructions are below. i was listening to it last night and just tried again a minute ago and can't get back in, so the 'one use' thing is legit. (i'm guessing if you leave your browser open for days you'd still be able to listen, but i turn my computer off at night so i couldn't tell ya for sure.) if you'd like a code, let me know and i'll reply with one until i run out.

I am watching older youtube vids of Ani, and I think she looked super sexy when she had her nose ring. Has she ever said why she took it out?

I'm posting because I have a group project due for social problems. Our group's topic is poverty. My specific assignment involves the media, and one of the questions asks if there are any songs about it. So, my first thought was Ani.

Sadly, my music collection isn't with me and so I don't really recall which songs would be good for this assignment.

Please, what Ani songs are mainly about poverty?
