i just wanted to give you a heads up that i'll be leaving lj sometime soon, probably at the end of the month. i'm currently going through and removing duplicate/inactive comms and friends from my flist, so if you see me deleting any alternate identities of yours, it's not because i like you any less; i'm just consolidating. ;)

also, i'm logicandlove on dreamwidth and would love to be friends with you over there! that'll be my new home when i'm done here.

so a couple of days ago i bought this userhead (to me it's lisbeth salander from the girl with the dragon tattoo [swedish] movies :D), and it was great most places but horribly unattractive as a favicon. so i posted on the support board.

somewhere between my comment and the final answer, my request was moved to the account payments category and marked as private. i vaguely suspect that had more to do with my complaint than any actual private information, considering there was none in my request. so i felt the need to post it here; now i can close it and not feel like i'm letting them get away with something. :P at least the good news is that the issue will hopefully be fixed by the end of the month.

thank you for making the world a better place. thank you for returning to me a little of my lost faith in humanity and love for the people in it. seriously. a few years ago some stuff happened and i became a cynic, so now i basically hate almost everything and everyone. i have a lot of anger and bitterness and it doesn't take much at all to set me off. but you, leslie, and this whole show, you're brilliant and your light shines on whoever and whatever is around you, and they just soak up your awesomeness and are better because of it. you're my hero. i love you.

i also have to thank herosquad who doesn't actually know me and won't be seeing this, but her leslie/ben mix Inconvenient Fireworks has been a huge source of happiness and otherwise positive emotions for me lately. my official leslie knope song is now She's Fantastic by sondre lerche, which i'd never heard before and repeatedly fills my heart with love and glee. so thanks, stranger. you give good tunage.

off to watch 2.12 Christmas Scandal -- the one where leslie is out of the office and the entire rest of the department can't handle her workload between them for one day because she's just that amazing -- and then bed. and hopefully sleep with minimal effort.

to say i'm quite the movie lover is actually putting it rather lightly, and i've recently become increasingly concerned with my continued support of Fox entertainment-related companies due to their association with Fox News. i haven't yet decided how i will change my actions to reconcile them with my beliefs, but i was excited to receive an email today on that exact subject. the whole thing is quite long, so i've copied what i consider to be a good summary and put that at the beginning. the rest is after the cut, for anyone who is interested. if you wouldn't mind sending a similar email to a few people you think might feel the same, or posting something about it on a social networking site you're a part of (linking to this entry is fine!), it would mean a lot to me.

summary:
The goal of Turn Off Fox is to reduce the number of public TVs showing Fox News, while spreading the word about Fox's poison (and how it works) to those who don't know.

Signing up for the campaign is just the first step. We make it easy for you to tell us about businesses playing Fox. If you're willing to talk with them, we'll provide you with straightforward materials that explain why they shouldn't be a party to what Fox is doing. And if there are businesses you know that want to tell the world they would never play Fox, you can help them declare themselves a "Fox-free zone."

As businesses Turn off Fox and stand up as Fox Free, and as we encourage our friends and family to do the same, we'll help make clear, to people across the country, what Fox is about. And we'll reduce their ability to do harm.
