We are all in the gutter,

I was on the train today, thinking of what I could do to really make this community worth something to everyone. So here's my idea, please feel free to pitch in with thoughts and ideas. Every week I will post a few pictures of one particular person, along with a few paragraphs about what makes them truly beautiful individuals. These will either be people whose friendship has brightened up my life, OR submissions of people from you guys. If there's a friend, family member, or loved one, or simply someone who has somehow inspired you and would like to share them as an example of someone with pretty insides to match their pretty outsides, please email me at: mad_mandy_slade@yahoo.com. I will need at least one photo and one paragraph about this person. Also acceptable are celebrities, but ONLY celebrities who have shown the ability to do beautiful things with their life, for other people, etc. I don't want this becoming "ZOMG This person is SEXY!1!!" 
So... uh, details/rules:

1. Please include at least one photo, or photo link.
2. Please include at least one paragraph stating why this person is someone you find to be truly beautiful.
3. Please don't get mad at me if I choose not to use your example that week, as I can pretty much guarantee it's nothing personal.
4. Posts will be once a week, sometime between Wednesday and Friday (variation due to a wildly unpredictable work schedule...)
5. Pictures of your pets will not be accepted. Yes pets are wonderful, etc, but this is to promote a feeling of encouragement for PEOPLE who recognize true beauty in others. Knowing how ~omfgawesome~ Skipper is won't do that, sorry to say.
6. Nothing slutty, thanks.
7. You may feel free to submit your self :)

 and the basic purpose is to post pics showing your own unique perspective on fashion, and I thought some of you may be interested. It's brand new, so I don't know how well it will do, but we'll see.

In other news, I've started noticing I feel prettier without makeup.

I wanted to ask a question, and see what you all have to say:

What makes you feel truly beautiful? (NOT including makeup/clothing.)

For me:
I feel beautiful when I go for a walk in the rain.
I feel beautiful when people I respect compliment me.
I feel beautiful when I write something I'm proud of.
I feel beautiful around live music.
I feel beautiful when I do something nice for someone.

What about you?

Hey there. I'm Mandy. I guess I'm pretty much the mod since I created the community, sooo uh, Hi. I've never done this before, so bear with me. Basically I was sick of seeing all these young girls who want to look just like the scene queens and net celebrities. Young girls who want to be just like them, and idolize these people who have nothing to offer besides expensive clothes and pretty faces. It made me sad thinking of these beautiful girls loathing themselves because they don't fit some ridiculous standard. 

The purpose of this community is to appreciate REAL beauty. People who have beautiful personalities to match their pretty faces. I've just started created the comm, so please bear with me while I get everything set up. I'll post more when I have a better idea of what I want to do with this group. All will be welcome here. Male, Female, Transgender, Antigender. Thin, Fat, Average. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Middle-Eastern. Rich, Poor, Middle Class. Goth, Punk, Emo, Scene, Prep, Jock, Geek, Outcast, Country, Urban... Whatever else you may be. Real beauty comes in all forms, so no one will be discriminated against. I only ask that you be respectful of others and remember that your personal standards of beauty do not apply to the world, so keep an open mind. Labels do not really apply here. Here we are all just people. Humans who appreciate that beauty is more than perfect proportions and fancy clothes.
