(no subject)

And then God show me that it's possible for me to laugh and be happy without S.
That it is possible to forget S even if it's just for a while.
God showed me that in not alone and I'm not the only one sad and broken.
God showed me ppl who can laugh through their pain, like me.
God showed me there are better ppl out there than S.

Thank you Allah.

I gt out of my comfort zone and I had fun.
I laughed and the moon shined the brightest. The stars were sparkling above me. And for a moment, I forget I'm hurting.

17 things to share about my HCMcity trip.

May 2014.

1. i didn't go to a lot of places due to personal reason. but i went to saigon square, ben than market, hongkong market, war remnant museum and the streets near my hotel.

2. its a very clean city, exceeding my expectation.

3. airport is huge and organised, with duty free shops.

4. all workers in the tourism industry - airports, hotels, attraction, wear an aodai - their national costume and its too pretty. i was so tempted to approach any and ask for one. lols. but ofcourse i didn't.

5.vietnamese girls are so pretty. why? i don't know. but most of them are tall and skinny. i bought a pair of aodai, and i could only fit into an XL.really. i feel fat, the whole trip.

6.most of them can speak english, but their accent is different so its quite difficult to understand. those at ben than and saigon square can speak malay.

7. my time at the war remnant museum is an emotional roller coaster. its horrifying and sad, what they went through.

8. its a very fast developing country, its a surprise for some reason. i didn't expect it to be what it is.

9. coffee bean and starbucks are cheaper there. my family and i have a cup everyday. just because. lols. and these coffee places are also their youth hangout place. and i didn't even see a single person studying there. everyone is literally hanging out. (singapore is so stressful)

10. there are a few halal restaurants around, but you have to find the real halal ones and most of it are owned by singaporean/malaysian and the pricing are the same as singapore/malaysia's food.

11. the rickshaw man is a con man. we were conned. i think about $180sgd for a rickshaw ride. they brought us to an alley to settle payment and of course we paid.

12. traffic is massive there. crossing the road have never been that exciting. but if you're in a car/cab/bike, you'll never be stuck in a jam, it keeps moving anyway. (bike is their main mode of transportation)

13. there is almost no beggars on the street. (another surprise )

14. there are a lot of branded boutiques there. theres nike, new balance, crocs, doc marts, superga! , mango, just to name a few. pricing is the same as singapore(without taxes), so its like 5-10sgd cheaper.

15. their sporting goods at the market (unlike the boutiques where its confirmed authentic) , north face, columbia and all that seems authentic, i couldn't tell the difference! at all.

16. besides their currency, RM and USD are widely accepted.

17. I'm never coming back.

f*ck you cancer.

many months(or years) ago, i stumbled upon Ronan's story.
this little rockstar who fought cancer till the end.
His story make me more aware of cancer and how many kids in the world have lost their lives to cancer, and many more still battling...

This year, on the 9th of May, marks the 3rd year since Ronan left his family, and it is officially international FU cancer day.
Lets celebrate and be brave and do something out of your comfort zone.
And on the 12th, is Ronan's 7th birthday and the 3rd annual Ronan's day of love, so lets all spread loveee, it's a worldwide party!

"I want to be the reason you live your life the the fullest because that is how Ronan would have lived his. And he never got the chance. Which is fucking bullshit. You are here. You can do anything. So DO IT!" - Maya Thompson

For more info, do take a look at Maya's blog at this link

Spread awareness, people need to know.
For Ronan, and for all the kids in the world who are fighting cancer.

the little things are free and the little things are big.

I've been thinking, a lot, sometimes, a little bit too much.

and i realised all the good things in life are free...
all these little things that we tend to forget
let me just list a few,
you can of course choose to disagree because this is just what i think.

and in this post,
time = money (invalid)

and just to re-emphasise that time=money(invalid), first on the list is

1. sleep
sleep is free as long as u have a shelter over your head. and obviously you do.
ps : when you die, you don't sleep. you rot. thus, enjoy it while you're alive.

2. love
love should and ought to be free, but if your love cost money then its probably not love unless of course you're talking about your love for money.

3. faith
having faith is free and practicing your faith is free. talking to god, praying, doing good deeds... you get the idea.

4. friendship
sometimes all you need, besides good coffee(which needs money) or an expensive slice of cake(which needs more money), are your friends. you don't need money to maintain any friendship. if your friends ask you out to catch up over coffee, then well, bargain. ask your friends over to your place for cheap 2 in 1 sachets instead.

5. passion
if you have the passion for anything, you'd understand this. and i mean passion, not hobby. having a hobby is expensive, but if you're passionate about something then babe, it's (almost) free! (because you don't give a f how much you spend on it)

6. exercise
keeping fit is free. who the f needs a few dumbbells of different weight/color, or a good pair of running shoes? you can do it without a single cent, I'm sure. you just need to figure it out.

7. entertainment
if you're in the mood to watch a movie - megashare.info
music - youtube it / google the score, the lyrics and be a singer
porn - iloveporn.com/urldontexist
I'm not paid to write this, btw.
but point being, its free and in abundance. don't complain about being bored unless you're illiterate (then, get help from the same person who's reading this for you.) stay up all night if you must.

8. knowledge
knowledge is free, you just have to look for it. esp in this era of superb high technology(again), knowledge is a google away. (if you can read this, don't give me the crap about not having the platform to google.)

9. sex
its free and it cures migraine. you can ask almost everyone for it. because sex is not a sacred thing between two person anymore. sex have evolved into something more than that. and in this context, more means less. go figure.

disclaimer: i am not discriminating people with liberal views on sex. don't read too much into it. get a life.

10. wifi
i am that person who'd worship the person who started this free wifi thingy because its the best thing that can happen to me when I'm not at home. don't judge me.

11. smile
a smile will go a long way. its not just a cliche. one do not underestimate the power of a smile, it could change or better, save a life. and if your muscles are all too tensed up to smile, try smizing instead (you can google how to do this). =.=

this entry is written to remind myself (and you, if you're reading this), that there are things in life that are free. and these little things that we tend to take for granted can make us happy. its not always about the big stuff... sometimes, we just need to open our eyes a little bigger and learn to appreciate everything/everyone around us.
you will go around thanking all the lifts because you dont have to climb the stairs
you might even hug a tree because you don't live off an oxygen tank

spend a day noticing all the good things in life that are free and i promise you, your world will change. (:
