Anyone know anything about bonfire permits in Portland? And/or a venue/warehouse/etc that might be comfortable/experienced with controlled burns in containers? Considering a fun fire-themed event, but slightly at a loss for the best way to go about it! Burning Man folks?

I'm posting this for a dear friend of mine, helloradio, who just moved to Portland and doesn't have an Internet connection yet. I think this is relevant to the community since she is a music freak and I'm trying to post this to as many Portland-related communities as possible. Let me know if I should take it down, though.

Fender was accidentally let out from an apartment at NE 61st and Burnside streets sometime between yesterday and today. We're not entirely sure when.

Fender is a female (not spayed) cat. She has coarse gray fur with some beige flecks and a few beige stripes at the tip of her tail. She has light green eyes and a gray nose. I like to call her "Fenderleezza Rice" because of a perpetually angry look on her face. She does not have a collar or a microchip. She is exclusively an indoor cat, which is why we are so worried about her. She may be very freaked out being outside.

Please help us find helloradio's most important companion during this difficult time of readjustment in a new city.

We're looking for queer erotic entertainers of all sorts: dancers, jugglers, singers, musicians, comics, poets, storytellers, gender performers ... if you can do it in 5 mins. or less (w/ minimal props/equip), this open mic is for you! The sign-up starts at 6pm and is first come, first serve.

Extras: Participants can have a mini-bio including a photo, email and/or web site address on the dirtyqueer.com website.

Caveats: 18+, hate free environment, consent is key.

Come perform or just be a part of the audience! It's all free!

in light of recent personal events that call for a good old-fashioned bout of acting out, I'm gearing up to throw the biggest, baddest most blasphemous ball ever... tribal drummers for pagany goodness, fire dancers, suspension piercing scenes, fetish artists, and I'm going to tell people to come as their favorite perversion of faith. Any faith. All faiths. A big EFF YOU to zealotry, bigotry and other oppressive bullshite. One big night of heresy and hedonism, one night of focused, therapeutic (if mildly childish) rebellion.

So I'm seeking info on fire dancers, drum corps, DJs, suspension and other acts that lend themselves to the lewd and lascivious.

Also seeking info on large venues that are down with fire and suspension. Ideas? Wanna get involved?
