the greatest_ever polls continue...

The daily poll at greatest_ever today is between two 19th century vice-presidents with the middle names "Mifflin" and "Augustus". Honestly, how can you resist the urge to learn about the sort of people who could pull off a name like that? Please come by and vote, or sign on to get the daily poll on your f-list!

As always, my apologies for any cross-posting...

Answer the Big Gay Sex Survey!

(x-posted to liberal)

So the Observer has uncovered significant minorities in the UK against same-sex marriage, against gay adoption and against an equal age of consent. It comes at a time when the head of the Islamic Medical Association in Britain has said:

“There is punishment and fine if you throw rubbish or filth on the streets, the gays are worse than the ordinary careless citizen, they are causing the spread of illness and they are the root cause of many sexually-transmitted diseases.

“They need neither sympathy nor help, what they need is the stick of law to put them on the right path.”

So answer me, world! What are your thoughts on homosexuality and gay people? Comment here and fill out the survey here, if you would.

the greatest_ever daily poll

Hi--today's the second day of the new daily poll at greatest_ever, a pointless competition to determine the best of categories that most people don't bother thinking about. The inaugural competition is for the greatest ever Vice-President of the United States of America, and today's head-to-head competition pits Hannibal Hamlin against Hubert Horatio Humphrey. Come on by and vote--thanks!

Apologies for cross-posting...

Comment Poll

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I didn't see anything against it.
If ANYTHING needs to be changed in this post, please feel free to let me know.
I was replying to a comment that a friend left me, and this thought occurred to me. What if LiveJournal made the "comments" like they do the posts? What I mean by that is that they add the "Mood", "Location" & "Music" parts to the submission form like they have on the LiveJournal post pages. It's just a thought, but I wondered if anyone else shared my views.

How To Run A Game

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I didn't see anything against it.
If ANYTHING needs to be changed in this post, please feel free to let me know.
I run a trivia game (with trivia from several different sources) out of my LiveJournal. I've been doing this for about six months (perhaps a bit longer). This is in addition to my actual posts (personal life, promotions, picture posts, etc). Every couple of months or so, there is a prize awarded to the person who wins the "Trivia Challenge" for that month (whoever gets the most "points" between the first & last days of that particular month. Now, because the game is run through my account, I keep the trivia game Friends Only as well, so that my journal is nice and uniform. Anyone & everyone is eligible to join the game, but they must friend me in order to participate. That's where this poll comes in. I'm trying to decide whether to keep this trivia game within my journal only (as it is, and where people must be added to play), move it to a community (possibly have more participants, promote the game, etc), or phase it out completely. The poll itself is located HERE, and any discussion can be done in the comments of THIS post. I'd like to get as many responses as possible.
