To the Memory of Comrade Lenin.

150 years ago, on April 22, 1870, a boy named Volodya Ulyanov was born in my country, which was called the Russian Empire at that time.

Now we know him as Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the Great Russian Thinker, philosopher, and revolutionary, who managed to defeat the capitalists and landlords in a difficult struggle, the Creator of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the first state of workers and peasants in the world's history!

The World of Vladimir’s childhood and youth was very much like modern Russia: outrageous exploitation of people and injustice, rudeness of Fat Cats, flagrant contrast between the Nouveau Riche and poor people, contempt for the working people and worshiping of the West, rapacious looting of Russian natural resources and “endless revelry” of our political and business elite in "Paris" and "Venice", aggressive brainwashing of Russian people and complete hopelessness!


Vladimir was a nobleman, he could’ve, like many contemporaries, enjoyed life and spit down on the "poor, begging people". But he chose a different path – the path of the Righteous Man, the path of the fighter for the Freedom and the Happiness of the People.

Lenin went through difficult trials and won this unequal struggle! He built a state, in which the main things were not the «money bags», but People of Joyful and Creative Labour!

Thank you, dear Comrade Lenin, for our happy childhood and youth, for making possible a world in which people work honestly and joyfully, in which there is a place for Man with all his sincere aspirations and creative daring, for Man with the search for Meaning of Life, not for the endless fears and depressions, as it is under capitalism.

The memory about the USSR and our ancestors, who created the great achievements of socialism, gives us hope that by making joint efforts, we can achieve a decent life for honest people! We know now that a fair society is not a myth or a fairy tale, it is possible in principle!

Thank you, Comrade Lenin! You will live forever in people’s hearts!

Убили наверняка просто «за кеды», и если кто-нибудь из вас был в Африке, а я вот бывал, - то отлично знаете, что там это не «возможно», а правило, не знающее исключений, если только у вас нет договорённости с местными центрами силы, которые вас будут охранять, либо если вы едете по натоптанному туристическому маршруту, охраняемому всей армией государства.

Любое отклонение от этого - 100% смерть с ограблением. Могут ещё съесть. И это не преувеличение.

Я крайне не любил Джемаля-младшего, был с ним знаком, но дураком никогда не считал. Аферистом - да, авантюристом - да, больным, крайне подлым и жестоким беспринципным человеком - да, но совсем не дураком. В этом смысле он от папы не отличался, как и во всех остальных перечисленных позициях. Ну, может только более психопатичен и невростеничен был.

Но не дурак. Поэтому у меня нет сомнений, что о том минимальном знании об Африке, что я сказал выше, он представление имел полное. И просто так туда бы не поехал без гарантий безопасности. Хотя был крайне жаден до денег и любил при этом авантюры, но без гарантий безопасности не поехал бы, суицидального синдрома у него не было; он хотел убить всех, а не самому умереть. Ещё хотя бы в Ливию можно пытаться ехать без этого, но южнее Магриба и Эфиопии - точно нет.

Another mass shooting...another "jump-the-gun" response. When will we ever learn?

The victims were not yet identified and the shooter was just put in custody, and already the Democrats/Anti-Gun Movement was in hot political pursuit, with no conclusive evidence available to back-up their perceptions. How irresponsible!

First, Florida Democratic Senator Clarence William "Bill" Nelson II goes on television and calls the AR-15 Semi-Automatic Rifle ("semi-automatic" meaning one round is discharged per trigger squeeze) a "rapid-fire" weapon; using that term to imply to the masses in America who are uninformed about various firearms that this was an "Automatic" weapon, but providing cover for himself if he were called out on it. We who are educated on weapons call that being "sneaky" and "dishonest."

I would like all who read this entry to ask themselves a few questions:

1) How often do you see ordinary citizens on American streets carrying semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 (the one's that look like the M-16A2 or M-4 Carbine Rifles our current soldiers use, but are NOT the same, as those military weapons have "three-round burst" or "automatic" selections to go with "semi" and "safe" positions)?

2) Do you know that fatalities from semi-automatic rifles in America are only a small fraction per year; compared to handguns that take the lives of over 20,000 per year?

3)The U.S. had an "Assault Weapons Ban" (a political term to blur the line between illegal and legal guns) from 1994 to 2004, yet there was no statistical change from years outside that 10-year period. Does that PROVE we need to reinstate it? If you have statistics from the government (ie, CDC.gov) that I haven't been able to acquire nationally or in New York State (NY does NOT maintain these stats according to the NYS Department of Justice), please share your resource.

4) What law do the "lawless" abide by?

I only ask these questions because Democrats in Washington think all of you are idiots. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) who is really a Democrat pretending to be "Independent" stated in May 2013 that we need to get "Automatic Weapons" like the AR-15 off the streets. Blatantly lying to us and yet he gets away with it due to public ignorance.

I refuse to be a stupid lemming and do nothing while these self-absorbed politicians threaten the rights of law-abiding citizens and our safety, in order to eliminate the tens-of-millions of dollars that go to their Republican rivals. Our safety is not for sale, unless you invite it.

I want ALL Americans to ask questions, but more importantly, do your homework! All of our lives and those we love are at risk when politicians leave us defenseless against criminals who do not obey the law. Illegal guns are everywhere in the U.S. and by the millions! Be afraid of those who don't care about your safety, as they are already protected (unless they choose otherwise).

Democrats have been convicting President Donald Trump and his campaign of "collusion" with the Russian Government since his election in November 2016, yet it was rather clear that all our intelligence agencies determined by mid-January 2017 that there was no collusion. However, Democrats weren't giving up that easily, as they embarked on a public relations campaign to pretend that there might be, using the old poker trick 'you don't have to hold four aces, if they think you have four aces' to sustain a cloud of suspicion over the Trump Administration and Republicans, heading into the 2018 mid-term elections.

Throughout 2017, The New York Times, Washington Post, and others printed numerous stories using "anonymous sources" attempting to prove collusion, only to retract them days later (retractions were usually in the form of apologies buried in the middle of the paper as only a disclaimer); then, politicians like Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Adam Schiff would use these in conjunction with other reports and innuendoes to paint a picture of corruption, using their popular mantra, 'where there is smoke, there is fire' routine.

The big open-secret in Washington is that the majority of Americans are ignorant about what is going on and easy to manipulate - and both sides of the political spectrum do it! If the vast majority of Americans paid attention and knew what was going on, this charade would not be commonplace.

So, in light of the deceit surrounding attempts to convict on speculation and false campaigns to bring down President Trump and re-establish Democratic oppression of our country for personal gain, it is puzzling how there hasn't been an effort to expose the corruption of the Obama Administration, to include President Obama, himself.

What "corruption" am I referring to? Well, obstruction of justice is a start, when he told more than one reporter in exclusive interviews that he reviewed Hillary Clinton's email "situation" and she did nothing wrong...DURING an ongoing criminal investigation of her "situation" by the FBI, headed by Director James Comey. This was clearly a signal to Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director Comey, as well as Democrats in Congress that there will not be an indictment of Hillary Clinton or any of her top aides. President Obama then proceeded to be derelict in his duties as President, when he failed to fire Attorney General Lynch following her obstruction of justice by secretly meeting with Hillary Clinton's husband (and former President) Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac just one week before FBI Director Comey announced to the public that as "acting Attorney General" he was not going to indict Mrs. Clinton, inspite of the fact that he acknowledged that she had classified information on an unclassified server. He backed his decision by stating that she had 'no intent' of misusing the information. Sorry Director Comey, but having held a Top Secret Security Clearance and knowing that 'intent' has NEVER been an acceptable excuse for mishandling classified material or carelessly storing it off a secure network, your cover-up is blatantly obvious and in my view, criminal. President Obama, Secretary Clinton, Director Comey and Attorney General Lynch, should all be investigated, and based on the evidence, convicted and sentenced! Others who aided in their abuse of power and obstruction of justice during the follow-up investigation should also be indicted and tried for their part...and if convicted, sentenced and jailed, too!

Politicians are not Kings, they are not above the law; they are "Public Servants" who should NOT be held to a lesser standard than the average citizen, but to the highest standard possible. They work for us, we don't work for them!

At the 2nd May 2014, activists of Ukrainian pro-European political movement “Euro-Maidan” created one of the most terrible massacre XXI century: more than 40 activists of the Anti-Maidan movement “Kulikovo Pole” were burned alive in the Trade Unions House of the city Odessa. Some escapers from fire were tortured and beaten by pro-European activists.

In 2004, mass protests against the President Election victory of pro-russian candidate Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych led to the Orange Revolution and to the establishment of pro-american regime in the Ukraine. It makes some experts to believe that the new epoch, an epoch of non-violent revolutions starts.

However, 10 years later similar protests against President Viktor Yanukovych created very catastrophic period in the Ukrainian history. Now, 3 years later, country is still in big economic troubles and suffers from the Civil War.

I know this might be a bit out of line, but I thought there might be some people on here who'd like to know that former member of the various LJ political communities, Chris Gillen, died about a week ago.

It's one of those 21st century things; I never met the guy, we never had a beer together, but some of the most enlightening and engaging discussions of the last decade have been either because of him, or punctuated by his wit, sarcasm and cynicism that reminded me to not take myself too seriously.
