Just wanted to let you know that if you want to order the softcover book direct from me instead of Amazon, it's $20 NZ plus shipping (not sure about the shipping but the book price is cheaper than on Amazon). And I will give as close an estimate as possible to shipping cost.

I've got heaps of copies. If you have friends who want to order, please let them know they can send a message through my website.

I just got my proof copy of the book. I’m not officially publishing until the end of Feb, but since I’m ordering 100 copies to be printed here in New Zealand, I needed to get all the files into the printer early.

I have to tell you, the cover looks amazing in print. The colour really stands out. So it will stand out on a store bookshelf.

It’s going live on Amazon at the end of next month. I do need to tell you that if you want to order the softcover, if you buy it from Amazon, there will be some photos in it, only about 10 pages, and they will all be in black and white - this is to keep costs down. E-book, I don’t think there’ll be any problems with.

OMG, I’m excited and scared at the same time. I mean, this is my story. I’m laying myself bare to the world.

So, if you haven't seen my writer's page on FB, I have finished the first draft of the book, Living With Depression. It took me 18 months to research and write and I'm pretty proud of myself right now.

I am waiting to hear back from a PR company and am looking for someone to edit the book.

Publishing will be in February.

Anyway, just thought you guys would like an update on it.

 Would anyone be willing to edit/proofread my book?

I can't pay right now, but I will pay what I can when I can. The first few chapters have already been edited but the lady who was doing it dropped out and another friend has some family issues which has made things difficult for her. 

I basically just need someone to check for spelling/grammatical errors and for anything that doesn't make sense.

I have been thinking about changing the title of my book. The current title I have is Pathways Out of Depression, but I think it might be too wordy and I want somethng a bit more positive. 

I think I need to be really careful too not to imply that depression can be cured. It can't. It can only be managed. It also has very little to do with sadness. 

An idea I have is: I'm Okay. Subtitle: How I Learned to Manage Depression.

One of the sayings I came up with, inspired by Smallville is this: Depression is a part of me. It does not define me. 

So, if you have any other ideas, please let me know.

Does anyone know of any communities that talk about depression? I know there is one on Facebook but sadly the mods never responded to my request to post this there.

A couple of people have seen this already but I thought I would show you what I intend to have in my book. I am not going to post more excerpts. If you are interested, I am willing to show you what I have written, but not everything. I still have a lot of research to do, so please bear that in mind.
