Abstract
Psychiatric coercion requires special ethical legitimisation, as the measure is applied in the context of medical treatment. This chapter looks at the background to the debate on the use of coercion in psychiatry, in particular medical ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.Other Versions
