TOP 20 OTPs OF ALL TIME

In no particular order, except for the first two.

Fandom: The XFiles
Couple: mulder/scully
My first OTP before I even knew what those three letters meant. I was 14 and going into my first fandom, so I guess I was lucky to run into these two with their witty conversations and charged UST. They will always have a very special place in my heart because of that, and I will always hate bees because of them. :)

Fandom: Harry Potter
Couple: ron/hermione
It started around the time I was pretty much done with The XFiles, but ever since I read the first Harry Potter book I realized this was the couple I loved the most. Of course they were just cute kids at first, but they changed and became such brilliant characters (especially Ron, who is my favorite in the whole series). I started reading fanfiction because of them, and I was rooting for them getting together like the rest of the sane world. When that happened, I cried of happiness.

Fandom: Alias
Couple: sydney/sark
It had so much potential of being unbelievably HOT. He teased her, she hated him, but they were still able to work together. I never enjoyed Alias more than when they shared the screen, you just knew it would be amazing. Kick ass. The sex would've been brilliant, you know it would have.

Fandom: How I met your Mother
Couple: robin/barney
I LOVE Barney. A lot. And watching the show I realized that Robin was boring, except when she was around him! She became interesting, funny, witty, and even prettier when she interacted with Barney. So how could I not ship them? They make a wonderful pair, way more interesting and fun than the other couples on that show so yespleaseMOREnow. Don't ruin it, writer guys. Please.

Fandom: Veronica Mars
Couple: veronica/logan
Not just because Duncan was a douche, but because they really were right for each other. They complemented each other and worked. Veronica was herself and better when she was around Logan, and he became a better person for her. Yes, they ruined things in the end, but while it worked, it worked and I will always remember those days as the best ones on the show.

Fandom: Friends
Couple: monica/chandler
They are my favorite characters on that show and I think I shipped them from very early on, whenever they shared a hug as friends. When they got together... OH.MY.GOD. I was sooo happy, and that is my favorite season, hands down. They really are perfect for each other, with their little manias and jokes and mistakes. I truly adore them together.

Fandom: Black Books
Couple: bernard/fran
why did this never happened?! URGH. Apart from the drinking, I'm not sure what else they had in common but it would've been soooo much fun to watch. Manny would've been jealous and Bernard would drink even more and be nastier, for shame.

Fandom: Spaced
Couple: tim/daisy
There isn't a couple on this list that is more perfect for each other than Tim and Daisy. They just never noticed it. They're both geeky and nerdy in their own way, they're both good-hearted, they're both smart and witty, they're both looking for that someone that will complete their lives not knowing that that someone is LIVING RIGHT IN THE NEXT ROOM.

Fandom: Booooooooooooones
Couple: angela/hodgins
Oh, I just LOVE how this one turned out and how the writers made it happen. I just love it. I love that they were just colleagues at first and slowly Hodgins starts to pay attention and caring for Angela's opinion. Aliens in the Spaceship really made it happen (for them and for me), and I could not have been happier. They're just so cute!

Fandom: Queer as Folk
Couple: brian/justin
Honestly, they were the only reason why I watched the show. I remember I didn't like Justin AT ALL at first, he was such a whiner, but then... ohhh, THEN. He matured, he got hotter, he became who he wanted to be and stood by it. Brian saw that, and fell really hard. No pun intended. Anyway, they're probably the hottest couple on this list, and they probably always will be.

Fandom: Gossip Girl
Couple: rufus/lily
It's everybody's guilty pleasure and while most people watch for the cracktastic Blair/Chuck, I fell for the older couple. I want them to hook up really bad!! There's something so romantic about re-meeting each other so many years after and still finding that spark alive and being forced to deny it because whiny Serena can't keep her hair up. Urgh. More Lily and Rufus please.

Fandom: Pride & Prejudice
Couple: darcy/lizzie
It's not really a fandom but I had to include it. To me, they're what Romeo and Juliet never were. They fall in love by knowing their real selves, not an illusion or an idea, they know their flaws and accept them. That's why I think that they do live happily ever after, they mean their love for each other and nothing can come between that. Ever.

Fandom: Northanger Abbey
Couple: mr.tilney/catherine
Because they're so cute! This is Jane Austen's happiest book and they are so perfect as part of that. They fall slowly for each other, but they do and it's so happy and pretty and oh, I love them. They make me smile. :)

Fandom: Firefly
Couple: mal/inara
It's weird for me to pair Mal with someone else, because he never looked at anybody else with so much want and helplessness. He wanted her, baaaaad, and I like to think that he did love her in a different way than he loved Keeley or Zoe or even River. He treated her badly, he pushed her away but he really did want to be with her. Oh, the angst. I do like it.

Fandom: British people
Couple: simon/nick
Of all the heterosexual couples out there (think Burton and Depp, Laurie and Fry), they're my absolute favorite. They're best friends in real life and they are so brilliant onscreen, I want to hug them both!

Fandom: The Office
Couple: dwight/angela
Once upon a time there was a boy called Jim and a girl called Pam. They liked each other but woe their love could never be. Then Pam was free and they got together. THE END. Why? Because the really awesome couple on this show is DWANGELA! You know it's the way to go, do not deny it, people. They bring the lulz and the warmth to the screen, and I swear to God, the only reason I keep watching is to see what happens to them.

Fandom: Rome
Couple: vorenus/niobe
I started watching this show because of these two. Oh, the love, the angsty love. I told you I like that, and they were so angsty and pretty and IN LOVE. I just really adored them. They got married and barely knew each other, and once he's back home they really do fall in love. It all ends in tragedy, but it is so pretty while it lasts.

Fandom: Sense and Sensibility
Couple: brandon/marianne
Again with Jane Austen. I didn't pick Eleanor and Edward because OMGSHUTUP, they drive me nuts. I like this couple more, although I am biased because of the people who play them in the movie, because he does fall in love with her but lets her be. He lets her make her own mistakes, he lets her go and come back, patiently, making sure with time that she wants him. And she does. She doesn't settle, she's just able to see how great a man Brandon really is. He's proven himself to her from afar, without needing to, and that is more chivalrous than any man in any of her poems.

Fandom: The Royal Tenenbaums
Couple: ritchie/margot
I love doomed romances, and this one is in the middle of a bunch of nutters. They've been raised as siblings but they're really not, and Richie has been in love with her forever. They share one kiss, and everytime I watch it (because I haven't read the book) I still get that little pang in my chest. It's the possibilities, the fact that Margot ends it right after... *sigh*

Fandom: Dracula (vampires in general)
Couple: Mina/Vlad
I'm talking epic tale here, folks. His bride is taken away from him and he defies an entire religion to find her. And he does. He has to wait 400 years to do it but he does. If that's not
