Michael pushed his chair away ever so delicately and repositioned his legs with a small stretch. "God wouldn't allow that sort of thing," he mentioned almost as if he were joking. His facial expression wore a thin smile which barely concealed that he felt guilty.
Words almost spilled out after a spark of thought, but he repressed himself.
After a moment of awkward silence, he decided he'd go out on a limb, but then he retracted. And then he decided he should at least settle his curiousity, but then again, pandora tried settling her curiosity.
Some things are better left untouched, and yet...
"Well, umm... What do you think of me?"
His silver eyes widened, in disbelief of his own recklessness.
Of course the answer would be something along the lines of "you're a boring old man who likes rules too much, and you're really plain." Well, if it were anyone but Lucifer he'd asked. He had no idea what Lucifer actually thought about anything. And Lucifer was way too close for comfort at that rate. He wondered if he'd regret all of this.

Lucifer continued to loom over Michael like a cat hovering over it's prey. He remained silent for a few moments keeping his eyes locked upon their intended target. Giving Michael a look of disappointment he sighed. It obviously wasn't the sort of answer he was looking for.
"That's a very diplomatic answer Michael. Are you trying to run for public office?" He rolled his eyes and looked away.

Michael's composure had left him as he mindlessly handed over his menu. His eyes stared at Lucifer's lips as the prince dared defy his personal space. He only made it worse, it seemed, instead of buying time. Lucifer was like a cat who had just sniffed out a weak prey about to run for its life. Enough with the metaphors.
Lucifer didn't stutter, but Michael sure did. "Eh-rm... what? Well, I don't... I don't know what I think.. I mean, I think I know what I think.. I mean..."
He quickly searched Lucifer's face for some small clue as to what Lucifer expected from him. He needed some guidance through this one. Was the dark prince courting him or something? No way, that couldn't be right. Of course he wasn't. The tall strong manly man's muscles relaxed as he tried to come up with something that didn't sound thoughtless, but didn't defy his lord.
"... You tell good jokes..." He coughed, shifting in his chair.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow as he handed their stunned waitress his menu. "I'm sorry Michael did I stutter?" He leaned across the table inching ever closer to Michael. "Oh I'll have my food five courses at a time." He gave the waitress a wink then returned his gaze to his dining companion.
"Now tell me Michael." Lucifer began once more as he inched in closely as he spoke. No excuses if he couldn't hear it he deffinately could've read Lucifer's lips "What do you think of me?"

"So what if it's what you want to hear? It's still the truth", Michael quietly mentioned before Lucifer suddenly changed the subject. When Lucifer ordered all of that food, Michael didn't seem to care whatsoever. It's as if he almost expected such an odd thing. When it was Michael's turn, he ordered a small and simple, but finely chosen meal. He hoped that Lucifer wouldn't force him to answer the question that he'd raised.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Yeah, like that would work. It would at least buy him some time to think.

"Thank you!"
Lucifer Perked for a moment then as quickly as he had done so he began to pout once more. "But you're only saying so because that's what you think I want to hear...." He turned his gaze down to his menu. "That's sweet... that's really sweet Michael but you needn't lie on my account. Remember... your 'god' attributes lying to be a sin" As he spoke Lucifer rolled his eyes and made a quotation mark gesture as he mentioned the word "god"
"Tell me Michael..." Lucifer began again more as he flagged down a waitress. "What do you think of me?"
"Oh right I'll take three of everything here" Lucifer said as he ran his finger up and down each page of the menu "make that five on the deserts" He closed his menu and looked up at Michael. "And what will y ou be having?"

Now that Michael even bothered to seriously look into Lucifer's eyes, they did seem somewhat different. A little brighter or darker or something like that. After so many years of running into him, sometimes rather literally, he'd gotten to memorize every little detail, and not on purpose. Not that he ever found Lucifer someone unattractive, he was just too often causing an annoyance whenever they saw eachother. He analyzed Lucifer's frowning face. It probably had to do with something shallow, because he didn't actually seem too upset.
Perhaps it's because I hadn't complimented his latest look.
So in order to satisfy him, Michael gave Lucifer a slight half smile. One of those 'I'm a moral and nice guy' kind of Michael-like smiles. "I like your new look."
(I love how much Michael's mind wanders. It's so funny. XD On a completely and utterly related note...... ><; damn... I have bronchitis. In the middle of the summer. What's up with that?)

hungry
Lucifer gazed adroingly into the incredibly spaced out, spazzing over his clothes and perhaps the fact that his nose had just been picked by the very person who sat before him, Michael.
I have blue eyes
See them glisten
See them shine
They are as blue as the sky
Blue as the background on this page too....
A very pretty blue
blue blue blue
My eyes are Blue!
Lucifer happily sang to himself in his head.
That's right Michael was color blind, he probably wouldn't have been able to decifer much of a difference anyhow...
Lucifer frowned at this realization

Michael nodded modestly. "I know this one." He was extremely gifted in language, spoken, written, and body language. He didn't need to try. This, like his physical strength, was just something he had. Now history on the other hand, if he hadn't been there for a lot of it, he was sure he'd need to study it, and still sometimes he needed reminders.
He placed his right elbow on the table, using his palm for his chin to lean on. He was glad that he dressed down today instead of his usual garb, otherwise he'd probably get stared at by fellow patrons. He wore a white button down collared shirt with a black tie, and black vertical striped pants. The stripes were just barely noticeable, since they were thin and dark grey in color. His shoes were dressy, but modern. His hair was pulled back in a ponytail, as usual, but pieces of it had slipped out and fell at the sides of his face.
Of course, if he had worn the usual garb that day... Maybe he wouldn't have been so vulnerable in that fire. He wondered if it was already the next morning and he hadn't slept or not.
(Michael: Focus on anything but the fact that Lucifer picked my nose... ><; and then asked me out.)

"of course... don't you?"
Lucifer picked up the menu and skimmed over it. The menu itself was practically one of those point and order sort of things with pictures of each menu item, a short blurb on the contents of it and price. He smiled cutely. "I like to familarize myself with all written and spoken human languages, incuding modern slangs and symbols..." He tilted his head off to the side. "you're able to read it as well...aren't you?"
