does anyone know where i can find some artificial light fixtures for my moth orchids? they aren't getting enough sun, and the days have been rather cloudy and dreary here. if so, should i hang it from the ceiling, and how long should i leave it on for? any specific time intervals?

i'm a beginner to this, so go easy on me. :)

Hello everyone! My name is Erica, an avid orchid lover, aspiring jewelry artist and generally curious individual.  I'm stoked to be part of a community for orchid lovers! So now I can start plaguing you with all my angsty orchid questions.

So! I'd like to kick off this imposition with some questions about sunburn, shriveled roots and strange growths! Hooray! Tell me what you think of these perplexing pix. (All on th' lovely Phaelenopsis).

My orchid isn't looking so good. It's a Phalaenopsis, and I think it has bugs. I've started to notice that the edges of the petals are turning brown. At first I blamed my very naughty kitties, but the other day I noticed a tiny winged insect flying around in the area of the plant. I also found some thing on the underside of one of the leaves that looked like water droplets, but it was actually something sticky. The plant has several new buds on it, and one flower that just opened - all of which are fine. What should I do?

Found a link to *this* while snooping around on the GardenWeb forums for information on installing light fixtures and fans for vivariums/terrariums. It's especially neat since they're mostly miniature orchids, a few of which are Lepanthes (one of my favorite genus groups.)

Holy crap I think I need to try it.
