ATTENTION, IMPORTANT!

If you're interested in writing +2 vignettes/ficlets/whatever this week (in other words, to be posted this upcoming FRIDAY, AUGUST 3), then please comment here.

As I said, this is first come, first serve. As soon as you comment, I'll assign you a random name from a hat. AFTER I've assigned your first character, THEN you can choose the second, providing that you comment with it, to let everyone else know who you've chosen.

AFTER completing the aforementioned two, you're welcome to choose a third character. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU'VE CHOSEN A THIRD, so that I can remove their name from the running.

For all intensive purposes, please don't choose someone who's already been assigned. We want to get through everybody, if possible. If you really hate who you get drawn, let me know and I'll redraw.

Also, something to keep in mind: We want these to be fun, but still as true to the books as possible. Even if you've believed that Parvati and Pansy were meant to be since Book 1, there's not much evidence of it and it's fairly unlikely that J.K. would have steered clear of it, so let's try and do the same.

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR FICS UNTIL FRIDAY.
When you do, please do so under a cut, so as to avoid spoiling anything for anyone who stumbles across this community by accident.

If you don't want to write this week, (ex. too busy, not motivated, etc.) then we'll be going through this all again next week, no worries.

Hi kids,

I've been putting this off like mad, but I think enough time has past, we gotta get this shit under way.

Now, I feel like ideally, we should try and get through as many characters as possible, without having to write epic shitfests about members of the chorus who were barely mentioned once. (Ex. That Archie guy from the Quidditch world cup; the one with the airy privates or whatever they were, etc)

In order to do this, I was thinking we could aim for everybody writing & posting at least two vingettes a week. One of the characters you could choose, the other would be randomly drawn (from a hat, most likely) and any other ones you wanted to write after that (within that particular week) you could choose, providing no one else has taken them.

If there are any huge disagreements over who gets to write about who, we can always settle it through:

1) A knife fight
2) A re-draw (if both writers are willing)
3) A civilized discussion amongst the two (or more) involved

If there are any characters you desperately want to see written about, it would be appreciated if you could leave their names in the comments.

Also, if you have any suggestions for modifying the process, then you're more than welcome to comment with those as well.

One last thing I wanted to double-check; how would everyone like to go about posting their pieces? Would you prefer posting it as soon as it's done, or would you rather everyone put them up on the same day?
