Omi's Place to be Omi

I got this LiveJournal when my sister, hughes_maes, went away to college, mostly to make sure that she didn't go broke or kill herself or do whatever that she wouldn't mention anywhere else. Since acquiring it, I have used this LiveJournal to keep up with some close friends, describe the dull exploits of my daily life in a boring and overly detailed manner, stalk participate in some communities, write fanfiction, join RPs, play the Anime Online Trading Card Game, and otherwise make a complete and total dork of myself. ^^;

No one would want to read about my life, but I tend to write it down here anyway, and I tend to write for too long. They say that those who want to become writers should write every day, and that it doesn't matter what of, but I'm sure that real writers write about more interesting things than what can be found here, and that's why they can actually make a living off of it. Luckily, someday when I write books, they won't be about me, so they'll be more interesting.

I like to think that my writing quality has improved since junior high, and since I haven't given up yet on writing at least average-grade fanfiction, I have a fic journal, which can be found at therosedammit. So far, I've produced a few good stories, but since I usually hate everything I write, this is quite the achievement, in my opinion. Details on what I can write for are there.

I cosplay as often as possible. I've attended a few conventions in California, and have successfully not made a fool of myself by traveling in a large group with all my friends in costumes as well. I have no fame whatsoever, but I think I've done pretty well for myself. I'm often Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, but I also cosplay from Phoenix Wright, Ouran High School Host Club, Weiss Kreuz, and Bleach, among other things. I tend to play girls, because I find it difficult to pass as male. ^^;

I've been in a few RPs, and I'm not too shabby at it. My main problem is social skills, of which I have few. I consider myself ill-qualified to recommend myself to strangers, to quote Mr. Darcy. I'm getting better, though.
