Gay Media
I made a new community that I'm calling, 
gay_media. I wanted to call it homoerotic, homoerotica, or homoeroticism but none of those were available. Although at first I thought homoeroticism was, then it turned out that i misspelled it in the creation process :-(. Also gay_erotica is taken. Pretty much everything is and none of them are being used. I'm not very happy with the name though. I might change it before i bother doing the layout
The community is flagged for adult content, so consider yourself warned.
I wanted to make a community that included more mainstream forms of homosexuality. The type of stuff that when we saw on T.V. when we were younger made us realize we were gay.
I also made the community because I didn't like any of the gay porn communities that I found. They all fell into either one of two categories, or both categories.
There are gay porn communities on livejournal and gay porn blogs elsewhere on the internet that talk about hardcore gay porn but are useless on their own unless you are willing to buy every movie or subscribe to every website that they talk about in order to see anything worth seeing. The images and video clips from those sites come off strongly as being merely advertisements.
Then, like most of the livejournal communities, there are websites that contain nothing but horrible amateur porn and things that only interest extreme minorities. Things like erotic fan fiction, or amateur erotic stories that are bad for numerous reasons. Like simply being badly written, or are only one paragraph long, surprisingly often there are erotic stories that contain no sex, or stories that contain extreme fetishes.
The bad erotic stories don't even compare to the numerous amateur porn shots. Usually self pictures that are annoying for too many reasons. Like the submitter posting 10 nearly identical pictures of themselves.
Anyways, I didn't want to make another porn community anyway. I have plenty of access to real porn and I don't need livejournal for that. Nevertheless I appreicate sexuality as much as the next guy and I wanted a place to go when I had a dirty mind (damn the name dirty_minds isn't available either)
