Welcome to the dark side

So here I am on my boat, on my way to Tahiti.

Yeah, don't I wish...

No, instead I am stuck here unpacking all these wretched boxes. We're still not all moved in yet and Mom's too busy flirting with the poolboy to actually lift a finger around here. So I have to do everything.

Newport sucks. Everyone's all, "Oh, look at my expensive fashion designer clothes!" It makes me sick.

Through Catillion, I met a couple of normal people, though. Ryan and Seth are two big breaths of fresh air in a windstorm of...polluted air. Their friend Marissa doesn't seem so bad either, but I really didn't get the chance to talk to her. But Summer? Hmmm...uber-bitch! I don't know why Seth was so head over heels for her. I think I helped give him a little confidence, though. He has such potential...but he needs to realize it.

Well, I'm going to go back to unpacking and wishing I was in Tahiti.

Tonight was... simply... insane.
I went to the Cohens' for Seth's grandfather's birthday party. I ended up going with Luke, just because I was uncertain about things and he asked... so I decided it was probably a good way to see what it's like to be with him again.

That went really well.. I can't believe how sweet and considerate Luke's been towards me. I think maybe the accident really did make him see how stupid he can sometimes be in the grand scheme of things. So he's changing it... and I'm really happy with the changes.

But I was still confused about us because of Ryan. I don't know what it is about him, but I can't seem to get him off of my mind... it seems like we had such good chemistry... or *something*, I'm not sure...

That's all over now. There is no way I can just throw myself at him like I've been doing when I have someone like Luke, and Ryan's messing around with that girl who married (married!!!) Seth's grandfather. Not even girl, *woman*!

Besides, I've made my decision, regardless. I finally took some of Summer's advice. I think from now on Luke and I will be closer than ever... and I think that it's going to be a really good thing.

So Newport's biggest party actually turned out great. I met a few really rich business men and gave one my number. But that was before...Seth.

I don't know why I never noticed him before. Sure, I noticed when he was following me around like a little puppy dog; when he was all pathetic and whiny.

No one else has ever looked at me that way before. He looks at me like I'm actually a person, not just tan and boobs. Which, I actually don't mind that much because, come on, I have some great boobs!

He remembered my poem, though. I still have a copy of that somewhere, but I keep it well hidden. Wouldn't want that going public.

I don't know what came over me, but in that moment that he recited my poem, his eyes were pure innocence. It was so cute and sweet and...for the first time, I actually noticed him.

School starts soon. I wonder what this year will bring...
