(for people who don’t know kathleen stock is an infamous British terf who triggered a whole “free speech” university row over her views)
this is what people mean when they say that transphobia and ableism are interlinked. because *of course* the same person who refuses to believe people when they assert their gender also refuses to believe them when they assert a disability. because who knows their bodies better than a random british upper-class white woman!
and at the end of the day it really boils down to this vindictive need to police and bully strangers because 1. why do you care about someone saying they’re a woman, dressing like a woman etc. and 2. why do you care about someone using a walking stick if they don’t 100% need it? the answer is, neither of those things affect your life, and you shouldn’t.
golly its almost like there was some kind of virus going around recently that gave a bunch of people lifelong disabilities. does anyone remember anything like that?
I want the belief in social contagion to sound like sayin the sky is red. ITS NOT A THING
literally one of the main arguments the Nazis used to put queer people in camps. we must protect our able-bodied white women etc etc this shit is 14 words to me
Hey fellas- is it a social contagion to go outside without falling over?
i have a suggestion
Young women with walking sticks should legally be allowed to smack ableist people with their walking sticks
if I could be an oyster for just one day all my problems would be fixed I think. it'd really put things into perspective I'd come back a changed mammal

"when people ask how you're doing, they don't really care." most of them do, actually, the amount they care is just directly proportional to how well they know you. you're just mad you can't be the main character of the Twice Daily.
if i am doing shitty and the check out girl asks me, "how are you?" i will say,"man, i've been better." we are strangers to each other. she doesn't need to know my whole life story. she doesn't need to know about my credit score and my hemorrhoids or my uncle in the hospital. she just needs enough to respond "been there, buddy. hey, at least the day is almost over?" and then we part ways. i have been on both sides of thousands of exchanges like this, the only one making you do a little song and dance is you, my friend
(cares so much its tearing me apart) whatever i dont even care
