Which Oscar Nominated Movies Have You Seen?

So there really isn't a single oscar nominated film I want to see this year but I keep hearing/reading how good some of them are. There are a lot of movies that don't sound appealing or maybe I'm just not in the mood to see even though everyone says they are great, and then for some reason or another I do see them and I am almost always happy that I did because everyone was right, they were good.

I watched the Golden Globes with a friend and we were mostly bored because we hadn't seen any of the movies so we've decided to watch all the best movie nominees this year even though nothing really appeals to either of us. Is that dumb?

I'd love to hear any reasons why I should see any of these :)

Favorite books or book series that you wish more people would read: Bloodlines, Cinder, Insignia, Enclave and Outpost, Blood Red Road, Partials, Pure, The Selection, City of Ember series (listened to it years ago but it's still one of my favorites and it's never mentioned)

Band or album or song you cannot stop listening to right now:
Cups by Anna Kendrick!!!! I freaking love her voice and wish the song was more than a minute long. She found a video online and taught it to herself one afternoon because she didn't have anything better to do and when the producers found out she could do this they wanted to include it in the movie.

Did you get something for Christmas that you think everyone else should know about? My cousin sent me Funkychunky Sea Salt Caramel containing popcorn, chocolate, caramel, cashews and sea salt. It is soooo yummy and addictive that I just ordered myself another container of it. :)

i need a new book

I need new books to listen to while I drive to my friends' store 3 days a week since it's 30 minutes each way and it's getting to be long and boring especially in the dark on the way home. The problem is I don't want something I will love because I'm still obsessing over the Hunger Games and I am not quite ready to let that go. LOL

I checked out boom_queen's top ten list and ordered Matched from the library. I have the mp3's for the Uglies series but I don't necessarily want another dystopian story right after the Humger Games because I don't want to find myself comparing them. Anyone have any recommendations for me? Easy reading listening, entertaining fiction, maybe YA?

movies of 2011

I watched less movies in 2011 than 2010 but I'm sure I watched way more tv shows. I was apparently stingy with my top rating, seems only one movie took that honor in 2011. Can anyone guess what it is? :)

I just made a custom cookie cutter!

I took an element from i_am_girlfriday's save the date cards that I designed and turned it into a cookie cutter.







I guess I'm glad I didn't watch the Oscars last night since I have heard nothing but bad things about it. [Apparently James Franco is studying digital media at RISD, but I wouldn't have any idea how to just 'accidentally' run into him on campus. LOL] Instead I was in studio working on the cookie cutter and then watched a few more episodes of Buffy season 1 watching for the very first time.
