Profile is under construction. Some notes are inaccurate, some tags haven't been carried out across all shows, and some insults haven't been curated. (I can't stress enough how WRONG some of my notes are.)
(Note: Favourites list reads left to right, The End of Evangelion being my #1 favourite anime. Same goes for my manga and character favs.)
Update (24/7/25): Soon to be engaged.
As anime happens to be an artform, treat it as such. Treat it as a language, it expresses the same amount of happiness and sadness that any word can. Like tears inflict sadness upon a witness, treat it as an emotion; it can exude any upon thee. The physical flesh of humanity may soon die out, but art must survive. Keep it alive as much as you might keep yourself alive. The death of anime is the death of life.
Stop watching that shit on a bus, the vibrations of distance hum away the time like non-places.
'4.52 Mean Score' implies an appreciation for the good and the bad.

Old rating system was Lorem Ipsum drivel. Going to write something concise and catchy soon.
Important Notice:
I give my ratings based entirely off of personal enjoyment, with some factor of their objective quality as well, some anime I didn't enjoy much I am still willing to rank high if they have an objective quality to them that's hard to disavow. A good example being Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which I didn't connect with but can definitely respect the indubitable quality of, which I gave an 8/10.
I also don't rank many shows based off of the ending unless such ending ruins the entire point of the rest of the show, like how the ending for Domestic no Kanojo was terrible enough to flip over absolutely everything I fell in love with.
My rankings are skewed, it goes without saying. This isn't due to the infamous elitist mindset that a 3/10 is generous, because it isn't; its bad at best. My scores are awarded on the popular (yet not popularly followed) 1-10 scale. 10 being the pinnacle, and 1 being the worst.
1/10 The true point where an anime actually takes away from the viewing experience of anime in general, a 10/10 changes my life and perspectives and so does a 1/10, in the sense that I will never be able to forget or forgive the lessons told within the show, that which make me either suicidal, rabid, suicidal and rabid, or laughing so hard that I might've accidentally clicked the drop button.
i.e Platinum End, Ousama Game, Tomodachi Game
2/10 A show I feel physical discomfort watching, or even a slight drive of anger, which typically forces me to grind through it an complete it out of sheer will power. The show isn't necessarily bad, just extremely lacklustre and without clear vision or goal, and certainly no kind of redemption for it that I could ever foresee.
i.e Danganronpa, The Garden of Words, Redo of Healer
3/10 Not something I would consider watchable to any people but still something I couldn't consider dropping unless it just didn't have a future clear enough to see any remanence of hope for the shows conclusion, if it even deserves a conclusion.
i.e Kakegurui, Kemono Jihen, 86
4/10 A show I barely enjoyed, something that could be deemed by the community as something worth note or something that can be tolerated for 12 episodes, but not something I would ever utter from my own breathe a second after I finish it.
i.e Summertime Render, Darling in the FranXX, Blend S
5/10 Shows that are just 'good', these shows are able to be enough of a TV show to be able to be considered a form of entertainment, at-least to some, typically shows that come up seasonally to entertain for a crowd for 3 months but never hear from again.
i.e Rent-A-Girlfriend, Tokyo Revengers, Your Name
6/10 Higher quality production but nothing to be considered objectively good. Enough to spark a moment of interest or enjoyment out of me throughout and for a recognizable duration of the show, but lacked the spark that would have made it worth something more or memorable the next day.
i.e Death Parade, To Your Eternity, Erased
7/10 The 10/10 for the majority of the community, 7's tend to be ultimately good in at least 1 aspect, enough to be respected solely for that single aspect, or were enjoyable all season round but not something I would consider to be unique or commendable. Typically a top tier anime in the eyes of the community.
i.e Kino's Journey, Love Flops, Call of the Night
Everything above 7/10 is hard to separate from 7/10 because of the amount of work and passion put into them; they are separated and placed based on my PERSONAL experience and relationship with the show.
8/10 This is when a show is not only superior to most other forms of content, but also has some aspect to it which was executed to such divine perfection that I am able to not only find fulfilment in expectations, but also something that the show changed overall and made stand out from the crowd of other art pieces.
i.e Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, When They Cry
9/10 This is when a show joins My Favourites List. A show has to be exceptional in most if not all of these qualities: Execution, Directing, Personality, Enjoyability. A 9 typically stands above all in its attempted genres and normally not only makes me cry my eyes out and drown in a river of tears, but also leaves a mark on me and becomes a part of my soul.
i.e Made in Abyss, Flowers of Evil, Texhnolyze
10/10 The only defining factor of 10, separating it from 9, is that it achieves everything that a 9 does, but with the single added factor that, the show without exception, touches me close and means something to me on a personal level, and to myself transcends the line between anime and a geniune story. These are shows that I feel.
i.e Katanagatari, Hunter x Hunter, Serial Experiments Lain
Note: The .5 decimal decides the rounded score. An 8.5 is a 9, and a 9.5 is a 10. I use this to minimize my 1/10s, and 10/10s, to give them more literal value.

Honourable Mentions:
I buy ALL of my manga, so I only choose shit that I have reason to expect them to be a good manga, hence my scores are a lot higher.
(see above) I could've gotten the omnibus for Flowers of Evil, but the anime meant too much to me, would rather have higher quality paper. Probably my prized possession of the collection. NOT cheap.
(see above) My Komi figure, pre-ordered the first official Komi figure, do I regret it? No.

Both shows revolve around political standpoints, using 2 major forces as main oppositions. Both shows are extremely messy and convoluted, likely due to the script writers working on both animes. Both are also riddled with large portions of content that never needed to have been there, including fan-service, and drama so silly that you think you accidentally clicked on a bad joke of a Lucky Star episode
Both Main characters find love interest in multiple characters which have borderline incestual details, each of these characters have similar mentalities to their respective characters in the show, and overall the shows just share a really similar vibe with a lot of similar theming and genres.
Unexplainable mega phenomenon resulting in ridiculous landscapes and physics that are hard to explain otherwise unexplainable, with darring residents live within or around and partaking in traditional events involving said phenomenon. Curious and unexplainable character introduced at the beginning, who almost instantly hits it off with the knowledgable and almost friendless main character who doesnt have parents. At the start the main character almost dies, saved by the aforementioned character, later becoming friends and is given a 3 letter long name. Main character has problems with one of their five senses, which is linked to the phenomenon in some way. Main villain(s) are guys with blackish masks There is a big black hole at the center of everything. Mysterious protagonist came from the origins of the phenomena and is being called to return by something sinister at the center of it all.
Both use extremely vibrant and unique techniques with insane choreography to portray serious themes and incredible story telling.
While the animes main premise and story may not be alike, the main and blaring comparison between the two series is the main female characters. Chateau and Violet can be compared in many departments as well as theming. With only watching a few episodes of each show you can easily create many comparisons and spot many similarities. While Love of Kill remains more true to the romance side than Violet, Violet has a more abstract and powerful theming, aswell as being objectively superior to Love of Kill in quality. Both are worth a watch.

I remember getting more existential themes from the show than economic ones like corporate slavery, but then again, I barely remember anything.
But if you want something contradictory, it would be the whole profile. I mean, I basically created an online persona…
Would be nice if you do it. You watched some unpopular animes and people enjoy having content about them.
Although that kind of content does not get much attention of course. I just watched a Haibane Renmi vid with 443 visualizations.
Yes I’ve noticed the notes and read a few. What do you mean by elitist take?
Yeah I misread that. Art is for sure more valuable than entertainment. However here by entertainment you mean some specific form of it (for example art itself is entertaining).
I guess another way of saying what you said is that art is superior to cheap slop that provides nothing apart from keeping you glued to the screen (if one is still in a phase in which that kinda stuff is still joyful).
If that’s the case, that entertainment is basically a form of escapism. Isn’t it? 99.99% of people watching slop do it to escape from boredom, daily problems, etc…
Not that there’s anything wrong about it, but that won’t change your life or change you as a person, at least not for the better.
And I say I prefer meaning just because there’s a lot of forms of art. What I value the most is shows that explore philosophical themes, heavy on symbolism and makes you think and explore on your own some topics, therefore making you learn. (Of course there’s more stuff I like that does not fit that description).
Yes escapism is one of the themes (I mean, some people straight up escape to the wired :v).
And there’s a lot more stuff, yes. In fact it gets to the point I don’t know if this is even bigger of a masterpiece than I thought because some people keep exploring new stuff and I don’t know if we’re just over analyzing.
I will eventually take my time to properly analyze the show and check other’s people works in the hope of providing the best analysis.
I just wanted to say that the fact that I liked/In interested in certain animes is not my merit but of the authors. As in, they did such a good job that’s hard not to appreciate.
You’re correct on value vs entertainment but I would say it’s more about meaning vs escapism. From what anime could you extract lessons about escapism among other topics? Hmm… I wonder :v
As for my to watch list, it does not speak of me, but of the authors ability to shake people’s hearths and minds by providing meaning, emotions and long lasting lessons, but I appreciate the comment.
Will subscribe to your yt btw, based on your favs you’ve got good taste.
Edit: I thought you would have anime reviews/analysis but seems not to be the case, hope you do some day.
Edit: I’m a newbie so I messed up and double commented by accident. Merged the two comments into this one.
While it can definitely be deeper than they think, I will add that "It's not that deep" is correct in many cases. I've seen some really schizo interpretations on here lately, and something like Frieren has this glazing fanbase that makes it seem far deeper than it is, but it's really not.
The thing about SR is that it places the fanservice into main plot points that are repeated or looped upon, and it's done in a pretty cringe way. The writing is probably okay for what it is, but I wanted a mystery more than a shonen.
I probably most favor electronic, ambient, and folk. I like plenty of classical but feel inexperienced with it. Comus, Vashti Bunyan, Nico, Jun Konagaya, Yes, Henry Cow, and Magnetic Fields (though Merritt's pessimism is getting real nauseating now) come to mind without having to check playlists. I mostly listen to OSTs or Wagner, Bach, or some random classical lately. I'm familiar with most subgenres, and I don't mind metal or harsh noise or whatever and screaming is fine by me.
Well, I found the amount of gore to be fine. I want to see the whole cast ripped apart in gruesome detail right about now. Especially Emilia, while Subaru is forced to watch, powerless. XD I guess you could say there is some "skinsuiting" here, which you did say. Reid is the worst character so far, and he's not kawaii desu or cool. Every new character should be like some crazy Petelguese character or a loli. Re:TARD has sold out! I'd say that Reid is probably worse than any of the shonen pair-ups in S3. I actually did wonder how Reid so easily dealt with Emilia's icicles that appeared behind him. Seemed impossible to account for with his skill set without moving, and she could have pin-cushioned him. Her moving closer appeared to mimic a scene kind of like Berserk's Guts versus Zodd in the field of swords, so you can probably explain this by a Berserk fanboy being on the staff. Although I don't know how the scene is presented in the LN. And we need that boob jiggle. Might as well get that. I was just disappointed that Subaru wasn't more upset over it. Also, ice tonfas, lmao.
As for passing with fanservice-comedy (if you want to see a really bad example of this, checkout Summertime Render), they're not entirely done there yet, since Emilia going on her own seems out of the question, and they'll all have to beat him (don't see why they don't just combine to beat him, since Anastasia was helping out Julius before). I don't have a problem with the show doing what you said there necessarily, but the execution is weak. And I'd like the challenge out of the way because I'm not interested in them besting Reid again or ever seeing Reid shown again. Reid is basically invincible next to the average fighter that Subaru is allied with. Emilia's attack probably would have killed most of the characters if they took that to the head. This segment is extremely lazy.
I don't have a problem with this, but Shaula is still annoying as fuck and should be whipped by her master to behave. :'S
Well, Emilia has been one of the worst parts of Re:TARD since S3. I preferred it when Emilia and Subaru were on bad terms or there was more conflict. I'm an advocate of tsunderes and schizo grills straight out of a mental hospital. No loving dereslop! Too easy and personality free.
Subaru probably should have taken longer to deal with the Ram/Anastasia bit after return from death. That's one of the most gruesome scenes in the whole series all the way back to S1 because typically bad things happen to him or his friends, but they were going crazy and murdering each other, which should hit harder. I can overlook most things, but ep 6 is horrible. And it's going to take at least one more ep of dealing with Reid before there is anything new. Since Reid is in the OP, he's also likely going to play a big part in this season, unfortunately.
