In case you haven't seen it - I only discovered it yesterday - there is a tumblr devoted to hockey players with pets. Set phasers for adorable!

Also, here's some fun news: Pushing Daisies Might Become a Broadway Musical, starring Kristin Chenoweth. I would totally see that! I mean, what I really want is the Snook & Cod: Knitting Detectives spin-off, featuring the aunts, with occasional appearances by Ned and Chuck, but I'll take a musical or a movie if it's in the offing.

Fringe icon procured. *points* Though why people link to LOCKED POSTS in icon communities continues to baffle and irritate me. It's like when people link to locked fic. No, I am not going to comment and ask to be added so I can read your* deathless prose or view your pretty icons. There's enough stuff available without making me jump through hoops to get at yours. Bah.

Everybody's doing it, so I will too. That 30 day TV meme.

Day 01 - A show that should have never been canceled

I could go with the obvious and say Firefly, but as the years have passed, I have to admit, I'm kind of glad it ended where it did. I mean, unlike a lot of fans, I love the movie, and I'm happy with what we got (though as always, it must be said, "WAH! WASH!"), so I'm glad it ended before Joss got bored or distracted. I didn't start watching Middleman until it was already canceled, so though I would have loved for it to run for five seasons of AWESOME, I was already at peace with its limited run when I started watching. I feel like Sarah Connor Chronicles ended in a good place even though I wish it had been renewed. Same with Life.

So I'm gonna have to go with Pushing Daisies, which was just too witty, pretty, and bright for this world. Sigh. I miss this show so much. Cod and Snook! The aunts! water ballet! PIE! Chuck's awesome wardrobe! The eye-popping colors and snappy double entendre-laden dialogue! The wacky names and wackier deaths! The coroner! The absurdity! The Pie Maker! Digby! Pigby! The singing! ♥♥♥♥♥

Speaking of TV, once again, I forgot Glee was on until about 9:20, so I watched it on delay, which was nice. spoilers )

I imagine I will keep watching next fall, if I remember when it's on, but if something else I like is on against it, it will probably just pile up on my DVR, and I will seek the musical numbers out on youtube.

ILU EMERSON COD!

Sigh.

I felt that that was a very fitting send-off for Pushing Daisies.

Nora Dunn! Wendie Malick! The Aunts! Itty-Bitty! Digby! The ending!

Oh, Pushing Daisies, I missed you SO MUCH. Your bright colors, your wacky murders, your double entendres, your quickfire witty repartee! The Aunts! The nuns! Snook & Cod! The Coroner! Pies with ridiculous names! Characters with even more ridiculous names! Plus, George Segal, for whom I've always had a soft spot!

At least we will finally get to see Gina Torres as Emerson's estranged baby mama. She looked utterly fantastic in the preview for next week.

Also, I feel the Piemaker and the Middleman should meet. Hilarity would ensue.

Anyway, I am SO SO SAD that this show was cancelled, and that they are burning off these last few episodes at 10 pm on Saturday night in June, because it deserved way better, but I will get the dvds and be able to run off to Coeur de Coeurs for pie and hilarity whenever I am in need of clever, beautiful, comfort TV.
