I mostly post about: life, random things that come to mind so it might be my personal twitter without the character limit and have the ability to control my comments. Drawings and fanfic will come up once I have breathing room from classes.
As of right now, I have no TWs and just hide posts in a cut if they get too long. But I'm working on tagging content/trigger warnings now for future posts after today. Feel free to tell me if you have any TWs before adding me.
My posts are mostly public and will save anything IRL, very personal vent posting, or photos for Access only.
My hobbies are: drawing, making little memes or crack-y “shit posts”. I also am giving writing fanfic a whirl after years of not doing that. Creating and talking about OCs count as a hobby, right?
Love nostalgia and retro. Always down to nerd about 80’s and 90’s cartoons together. What’s your favorite?
I’m very into witchcraft, so spirituality is also important to me. I am exploring Celtic and Kemetic Paganism.
My fandoms are: Right now? Really into Moomin, The Amazing Digital Circus, Pokemon, Story of Seasons series, Evangelion, and a little bit of Undertale. Marvel when it’s mostly Spiderman, Deadpool, and X-men. Tomodachi Life has my Nintendo Switch in a grip. Old interests come back every once in a while. Delicious in Dungeon and Yuri on Ice have a grip on me as far as favorite animes go.
I'm looking to meet people who: Are also into the fandoms I like, and anyone else who also partakes in witchcraft. Fellow artists or writers are always wonderful to befriend, whether we write for the same interests or not. I love seeing creative souls be so passionate about their works.
My posting schedule tends to be: Anywhere from weekly to bi-weekly. Trying to post more. I'll also try to be more engaging with friends in the posts, if it feels hard to comment on my posts lately. I'm trying to be better about commenting on friends' posts more, as well.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: - I'm still learning when it comes to Paganism and witchcraft. And the different types of practices. I have a grasp on what’s closed and what’s open to practice. So if I'm ever exposed to misinformation, be patient and correct me with well meaning - not with malice.
- I love shipping, so I hope you can tolerate that I ship characters when they tickle my fancy. I’m a old woman-loving nonbinary, so anyone who doesn’t like slash (male/male or women/women couples) is someone I might not want to interact with.
- Be a fellow 18+ adult.
- I'm a little political. Sorry. I understand escaping from reality and doom scrolling, but as a POC nonbinary that openly loves women... I'm friends with other POC and LGBT+ people, so I do care even online. So rants might come up occasionally. (I will tag it, though.) Also why you might as well avoid me if you're conservative.
Christianity is a no for me due to religious trauma. With that said, anyone conservative is someone that I’d like to avoid. They tend to be the bigots we all want to avoid, anyway.
- People that like darker dynamics like incest and adult/minor ships, I would rather not interact with, please.
Before adding me, you should know: I'm on Discord if you're very active on there and would like faster access. I can give that upon private messages. But also know that I work during the day and then do class work as soon as I log off. So replies can be sporadic. And no servers, please. (unless we just make one for ourselves.) Used to have Line, if that's what anyone uses, I can get it again.
Hello again :)
Jul. 14th, 2026 07:04 pmName: Tina
Age:
I mostly post about: Daily life, mental health (always under a cut and with TW/CW), and everything that goes through my head. I do a weekly "What Are You Reading Wednesday" post, as well.
My hobbies are: Reading, listening to music, taking walks, going out for coffee, hanging out with friends, jigsaw puzzles, cuddling my cat, taking pictures, going to concerts, travelling.
My fandoms are: I don't really have any? I am a fan as in liking things, but I don't participate in any kind of fandom activities. It's awesome if that's your thing but it's just never been mine :)
I'm looking to meet people who: are kind, funny, empathetic and curious. I love reading about what fascinates others and makes them happy, and getting glimpses into others' daily lives.
My posting schedule tends to be: this month, I am doing an "Ask me Anything", where I answer one question every day which my friends have asked me, so I post pretty much daily. Outside of that, I aim for at least twice weekly - the above-mentioned "What Are You Reading Wednesday" and one general life update (usually on Sundays). I do take care to not spam you too much, though, and of course you don't have to comment on everything even if I post daily in July ;)
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: besides the usual intolerance/bigotry - and let's be real, who considers themselves a bigot, anyway - people who aren't understanding about mental illness and/or don't want their friends to post "too much negativity". While I try to keep things light, I also want to feel like I can be myself in my journal and not want to be anxious about where the line towards "too much" would be crossed, if that makes sense?
Also, I am neurodivergent which means that I sometimes put my foot in my mouth without realising it. This has caused misunderstandings to escalate into drama before which I don't want anymore. So please, if I ever say anything that offends you, point it out to me and give me the benefit of the doubt. I promise I never set out to hurt anyone and I will listen, apologize and learn from it.

Jul. 14th, 2026 07:03 amIt's a work I've been struggling to figure out the plot to, and I'm sorely tempted to just abandon it. Especially since I've getting swayed more towards abandoning my remaining HP WIPs too, or at least the ones it would take me much longer to finish. I might put off final decisions there until after San Diego, though. This isn't feeling like a good week to make them.
I've been able to look at the SDCC schedule, at least. I'm tempted to offer to go to the Doctor Who panel for my sister, who would certainly be reporting on it if she could afford to travel to San Diego right now. But trying to write an article for her Tellyvisions blog there would be a pain in the neck when I currently don't have a laptop.
hi all!

I mostly post about: My life, struggles and wins, mental and physical health updates, rants, I also talk about media like movies, tv and books.
My hobbies are: Painting, crochet, gaming, web design, all kinds of crafts
My fandoms are: Yellowjackets, Community, Legion but I don't know if I'm IN those fandoms, just love those shows.
I'm looking to meet people who: Are my age and want to connect over the same bullshit.
My posting schedule tends to be: Sporadic, I just got a new laptop so I'm trying to post more.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Bigotry, general fuckery.
Before adding me, you should know: My life isn't all roses and sunshine right now and I talk about it a lot. But also other stuff, so don't worry too much about.

FIC: The Map Room (Tempestuous Tours)
Jul. 12th, 2026 06:03 amAt the end of the corridor stand familiar high doors; these doors are plated with silver. Flanking them on both sides of the corridor are the living quarters of the High Lord and the living quarters of the senior-most council lord. The latter is likely to become High Lord in turn. These chambers switch back and forth; when a senior-most lord becomes High Lord, his chambers become those of the High Lord, and the chambers of the recently deceased High Lord become those of the new senior-most lord.
As for the Map Room, you may already have visited there; it is where receptions are held. When not in use for receptions, the Chara meets here with palace residents or else makes military plans for his empire – hence the chamber's appellation.
The best view in the palace of the black border mountains can be seen from this room's windows.
[Translator's note: The Ambassador has good reason to remember those windows. Blood Vow shows why.]
hello again
Jul. 11th, 2026 10:23 pmAge: 33 ♥
I mostly post about: I'm trying to get back into journaling after a long break. I always used to post about my life-- work, school, family and friends. I work at a library so I will probably post about books I've read. I'm currently taking classes at SNHU to get my degree in English & Creative Writing. I spend a lot of time with my friends and my sister, and I have a cat who is 17 years young. I also occupy a few fandoms that I might post about every once in a while. So yeah, the regular stuff, I suppose.
My hobbies are: READING, crochet and crafting, painting and drawing, playing video games (although I haven't made time for that in a while.) I love to watch anime and k-dramas. I'm also a big movie-goer, I like the feeling of being in a theater. I cook and try new recipes often. My first degree was in photography so I like to take pictures still.
My fandoms are: I'm not terribly focused on fandom posting although if I'm playing a game I really like, or I go to a concert or buy something fandom-related I will certainly mention it. I am big on Kpop fandoms and WWE right now. I have a life-long love of Final Fantasy games. I'm a Love and Deepspace player (although we're boycotting currently). My main anime obsessions are FMA: Brotherhood, Naruto, Sailor Moon, and Studio Ghibli movies. I love Steven Universe and Adventure Time.
I'm looking to meet people who: Are from all walks of life. I love to read and learn about other people's experiences and day-to-day lives. People who actively post and comment would be awesome. We do not have to have shared interests as long as you're open to communicate. I'm very easy-going. I started on LJ when I was 16 and posted there for years before moving here and then taking a break. During that time I made a ton of friends that I still keep in contact with. I'm hopeful and excited to meet new friends here again.
My posting schedule tends to be: Weekly or bi-weekly. 200-500 word average. I do have ADHD so I will very likely forget to post at some point, or get hyper fixated and post more often.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: 21+. I don't make a habit of talking to kids online. Please, no MAGA. AI "art" is a no go. Basically any brand of bigotry or racism will not be okay with me.
Before adding me, you should know: I practice witchcraft. I can be kind of blunt. I'm diagnosed with depression, anxiety and CPTSD but if I post anything related to mental health I will tag it so you can choose to read or not.

Jul. 11th, 2026 11:16 pmAge: Early 20s
I mostly post about: life updates, fannish things, current reads or book reviews if I’m feeling up to it, random musings, my sweet little dog, my writing process and its longstanding rival: Writers Block. Oh yeah; might also have a bit of a giggle at life’s annoyances. I try to keep things light, but I’ll be serious when needs must -- I don’t always have the sun shining out my yeah. Mental health is an important topic for me, too.
My hobbies/interests are: writing, reading, music, thinking, fanfiction, greek mythology, poetry, etc. I don’t really play video games but I’ve a fair idea about most; Resident Evil, Dead by Daylight, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, to name a few.
My fandoms are: Stranger Things, Welcome to Night Vale, Dead Poets Society, Percy Jackson, Twilight, stuff… (my memory is SO fickle but I’m sure I have more)
I'm looking to meet people: from all walks of life as long as you are kind and have a heart. Just people to coexist with, like huddling in the grass while experiencing life :-) Shared interests are amazing but not very necessary. I read just about anything.
My posting schedule tends to be: erratic. I’ve been on DW for years and I’m only just getting back now after Life with a capital L happened. Alas, this is the part where I say, “Guess who’s back?”
When I add people, my DEALBREAKERS are: the usual. Homophobes, racists, anyone who puts their opinions above basic human rights, anyone who uses gen-ai in creative spaces, anti-feminists, all sorts of discrimination, etc etc.
Before adding me, you should know: I am very passionate about writing and everything fannish. I like writing about people being loved right, kissed right, and fucked right. I love love in all its forms and glory, irrespective of gender. I think love is beautiful and everyone deserves to be loved not just well but properly.

2026 2nd Set of Ducklings
Jul. 9th, 2026 05:08 pm
We spotted a second set of ducklings on the lake! This was somewhat distressing at first because the babies were following mama to the retaining wall, which she flew up onto and they were stuck below.

Bookshelf: 2026 Edition
Jul. 8th, 2026 05:16 pmFiction:
Children of Strife by Adrian Tchaikovsky -- Latest in the Children of... series. After feeling that Children of Memory was lackluster, I enjoyed this book much more. We got more of a look at nonhuman psychology than we did for Children of Memory, though
Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky -- Imagine made a solarpunk dystopia. That is basically this book. Humans enjoy beautiful ecologically friendly cities that effortlessly blend the built environment and greenery. All their needs are fulfilled. The needs of the "uplifted" animals who support them, however, are not--they are literally collared by what corporation owns them and have to work themselves to the bones just to afford the drugs they're dependent on. You could read this as a reference to modern class issues, though I don't think it was particularly intended as allegorical. Either way I enjoyed it.
Hemlock and Silver by T. Kingfisher -- The second of Kingfisher's books I read this year (I started Wolf Worm, but didn't have the time to finish it and felt kind of squeamish about it). While I preferred Snake-Eater, I liked this one a lot too. Kingfisher is always good at creating very original fantasy, with compelling characters, and this was no exception.
River of Bones and Other Stories by Rebecca Roanhorse -- Enjoyable, but kind of one note at times. I like Roanhorse's longer works better.
Rosewater by Tade Thompson -- Been meaning to read this one forever--it's apparently a classic of Nigerian science fiction. Having read it, I found it... a bit middling, to be honest. It's well-written, it's just grittier than I tend to like. I didn't really get into it for the same reason I don't really tend to like cyberpunk.
Seasons of Glass and Iron by Amal El-Mohtar -- Excellent imagery and metaphor. The stories are short, so while not all of them were my cup of tea it wasn't too hard to read them all.
Snake-Eater by T. Kingfisher -- Really liked this one. This is the first novel by T. Kingfisher I've read that does much with the Southwest, so it was interesting to later read Hemlock and Silver and see what's clearly a fantastical Southwest.
The Fox Hunt by Caitlin Breeze -- One of my favorite books so far of the year. I'm a sucker for anything involving characters getting a little more feral, and the transformation of the main character into a vulpine fae was well done. The ending set up for the expected sequel well, so I'm looking forward to that.
The Rose Field by Philip Pullman -- Difficult to follow at times. There were dropped plot points and plot points that were never fully explained. The end of the book is not conclusive. But in retrospect I believe that was part of the point, because an important part of the book is the importance of the imagination and unsolved mysteries to the psyche.
Venomous Lumpsucker by Ned Beauman -- An extremely depressing eco-dystopia where killing species is as simple as paying a modest fine that can be neatly priced into a corporation's operating expenses. Reading it wasn't fun, but it was a good book that hits a whole lot harder after hearing about how in the wake of the Exxon Valdez disaster, Exxon tried to make sure that payouts for environmental damages would be easily predictable, relatively low, and easily factored into their budgets.
Non-Fiction:
Coyote at the Kitchen Door: Living with Wildlife in Suburbia by Stephen DeStefano -- Probably a good book for beginners, but not particularly interesting for someone like me who has a background in science. The illustrations were pretty nice, though.
In Amazonia: A Natural History by Hugh Raffles -- For a long time, I've been interested in pre-Columbian Amazonian civilizations. Unfortunately, this book is not about that. It's about post-Columbian ecological change, mostly due to hydraulic engineering, in one community. Undoubtedly a good book but not what I wanted.
The Last Flight of the Scarlet Macaw: One Woman's Fight to Save the World's Most Beautiful Bird by Bruce Barcott -- An informative look at the struggle around a hydroelectric dam in Belize. Raises some interesting questions about colonialism, but also how anti-colonial rhetoric sometimes gets used to shove through developmental projects that are sweetheart deals for foreign corporations even over substantial local opposition.
