Kinkalot is an annual porn fest run by and for the BBC Merlin fandom, following in the footsteps of such fabulous forebears as pornalot and the late, great Summer Pornathon. Throughout August, we host a new NSFW prompt challenge each week for participants and a free-for-all bonus challenge that is open to all comers. Participants are also allocated into teams, who then compete in our month-long Bingo and Commenting challenges for the honour of winning the (entirely fictitious) Kinkalot Cup.

Posting for the BBC Merlin Hurt/Comfort Fest 2021 is NOW OPEN!

WHAT TO SUBMIT:

Any and all pairings, ratings, and types of fanwork are welcome, provided they involve the BBC Merlin characters and focus on hurt/comfort of some description—check out our info post here for minimum wc and other requirements.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

This is a self-posting fest, so no sign-up is required. You also don’t have to be a member of the Tavernfest Discord server to participate, though you're welcome to join us if you wish (18+ only).

All you need to do to take part is:


  1. Post your completed fanwork(s) wherever you like. We have an AO3 Collection for the fest here.

  2. Submit the link(s) to us on Tumblr using the form on our submissions page, and we’ll do the rest!

Please make sure you tag appropriately and provide any relevant warnings for your work. Thank you!

PROMO: Merlin Hurt/Comfort Fest 2021!



The life of a fandom favourite can be tough. When you’re not running around after the prince, you’re busy doing chores for Gaius or fulfilling your destiny. You have to fight off griffins, witches, and bandits; you get punched, poisoned, and pelted with fruit; and all the while you have to hide who you truly are because if anyone finds out Uther will have you executed…and that’s just in canon!

Fortunately, however, there are some compensations—such as when a certain person (or persons) take it upon themselves to bathe your battered body and tenderly treat your wounds…🥰

Which is why, this February, we've decided to give our favourite BBC Merlin characters a little bit of well-deserved TLC. In other words, we’re devoting an entire month to that most beloved of fandom tropes: ❤️ HURT/COMFORT! ❤️

PROMO: Merthur Glompfest is returning in 2021!


Guess what, Merthur fans? It’s almost that time of year again! Merthur Glompfest will be returning in 2021 for another round of fantastic fanworks, just for you 😘

What is a Glompfest, you ask?

A Glompfest is a gifting fest designed as a way for fandom creators to give back to those fans who wouldn’t usually be eligible to take part in a typical exchange fest.

How does it work?

Glompees (lurkers, readers, commenters, or fandom supporters of any stripe) will be asked to provide a prompt or prompts for glomping, which will then be claimed by Glompers (fandom creators, fic writers and fanartists) and filled according to the Glompee’s request. Completed works will then be posted to our AO3 Collection and shared on Tumblr for everyone’s enjoyment!
