Mod post: Thank you very much and goodbye!

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to say a huge thank you to you, our dear readers and Twitter followers, for all your support, comments and messages over the last two years that this comm has existed. We would also like to say a special thank you to all the fans who have shared their photos, videos, reports, tweets, info and scans. We also especially thank all those who have left wonderful comments and tweets on our last mod post. Of course, we are also very thankful to the entire cast and crew of Merlin for this show that has touched our lives in special ways.

We have had a wonderful time managing this comm because of all of you. We are very honored and grateful to have been part of your experience in the Merlin fandom. We wish you all the best, and may the magic always be with you in one way or another. :)

Mod note: Delay in updates this week, plus SDCC dedicated Twitter

Due to things that require our attention offline, posting of news and updates may be delayed on the comm for this week. We hope for your understanding.

We will be available to catch up on news nearer the end of the week, and we will be posting and tweeting live updates for SDCC on our dedicated Twitter, @mn_comiccon and on this comm.

Thank you for reading Merlin Network. :)

Mod post: Dedicated Pierrefonds Twitter

As the first block of Pierrefonds filming starts this month (14 to 27 June) we've set up a dedicated Twitter, @mn_pierrefonds, for alerts of photos, reports, and tweets from fans who are there. Please be warned that the Twitter will contain spoilers.

We'll also be putting up central posts for each day, or each couple of days, depending on the volume of material that is available; these central posts will also contain spoilers.

Mod post: Our first anniversary and dedicated Soccer Six Twitter

Merlin Network has just turned one year old! Thanks to all our members, watchers, followers, commenters, readers, and critics. We hope to be with you all for at least one more upcoming series of Merlin. :)

We’ll be posting updates of Soccer Six in a few hours. For those who prefer to get the updates on Twitter, or if you would like to avoid having to refresh the central post every so often to view updates, you can view or follow our dedicated Twitter for Soccer Six 2012: Twitter userMN_SoccerSix. We’ll be tweeting and retweeting updates through this account during the event, including photos, videos, and reports. We’ll still have the central post as usual, and the dedicated Twitter will be an added avenue for giving updates for Soccer Six as it happens.

You can also revisit the victory of Soccer Six 2011 through our updated central post with all the photos, videos and tweets of the event.

Once again, thank you for reading Merlin Network! :D

Mod post: Introducing central project posts

In an attempt to make finding bits of project-related news easier for everyone, we are creating project central posts for upcoming major non-Merlin projects of regular cast members. These posts will contain summarized information, links to related comm posts and outside sources, relevant videos, photos and other material, with the aim of being a convenient spot for finding general project information and specific information on the involvement of the Merlin cast member. The posts will focus especially on the Merlin cast member, regardless of the size of their role in the project.

We will continue to post new information and material in separate posts or as part of update posts, but now these bits of information will be linked in the central project post as well. The central project post will therefore be continuously updated as new materials become available.

We're starting with Fast Girls, as its release date is coming soon, but we're working on central posts for other major projects as well. We'd appreciate any feedback from you so that we can improve the comm. Thank you for reading Merlin Network. :)

Updates Jan 11: Shine Group's fan request, Merlin S4 ratings in Canada, article snippet, and more

Merlin news
♦ Earlier Merlin Official Facebook asked for Merlin fans' opinions and stories, and as it turns out a similar request was put out to fans of Spooks, elaborating that it was for a "short internal film to be viewed by staff [...] at The Shine Group [...] to showcase the values and impact of global Shine output through audience experience and connection [...]." The full letter is available on Spooks Fan Blog.
♦ Last Saturday's S4 premiere on Canada's SPACE channel was up 10% from S3 premiere; it was also the top non-sports specialty program on Saturday. More details from the Bell Media press release at this link.
S4 premiere review by MediaBlvd.com
♦ Game show host Matt Allwright named Merlin as one of his favourite shows on TV: "In our household, Merlin on BBC1 is an absolute must-not-miss as well. My son is obsessed with it and I love it, too. It’s perfect Saturday night television. The lead, Colin Morgan, has a nice comic touch about him and there is a bit of bromance between him and King Arthur going on. And there is lots of sloshing around in floaty dresses for dad, so yeah, we never miss it."

Angel Coulby: From Janet Montgomery's Twitter (@janetmonty): "If you haven't heard Angel's laugh then you haven't lived."

Labyrinth was mentioned briefly in a Hollywood Reporter article about France's Studiocanal taking a majority stake in Tandem Communications, which has produced the miniseries. According to the article, the "acquisition marks stage two of [Studiocanal's] plans to set up a European version of the Hollywood major studio."

Mod note: Thank you for bearing with us and the comm's brief suspension of activity. We'll be posting central catch-up posts over the weekend for the news that we missed posting, for archiving purposes. :)

Mod post

We apologize for being missing in action lately, as some recent offline situations require our time. We will continue to post news as much as our availability allows, and we'll also put up our backlog of non-Merlin updates in the coming days. You can also follow our Twitter (@merlin_net), where we sometimes post links ahead of posting on the comm. We'll also be posting about some updates to the comm next week.

Thank you for continuing to read Merlin Network, and we wish you happy holidays. :)
