Well, for the past week-and-a-half, I've been on a drawing spree, and even more so within the past few days. I wish it was always like that, but it's probably going to ebb within the next day or so.
Some of you might have already seen the following at DA, but not everyone has, so please bear with me. :D
Anyway... all art posted from oldest to newest. Links lead to the image at my Deviant account.
Got off my butt to post just to prove that I am indeed alive. Any other reason? No, not really. I can't believe it's been so long since the last one, but, hey, I haven't really had much going on, so why spam people's LJs with random drivel?
Anyway, since graduating in May 2005, I've yet to come across a good job, and I'm getting seriously tired and financially taxed with the one I currently have. I like the people I work with, but the pay is very "meh" and it's not at all what I want to be doing.
Other than that, not much has happened. No, I'm serious - nothing's happened. For instance, I still have no significant other, but that could be because I rarely go out to places and meet people, so it's nobody's fault but my own. Rather depressing, really, but I don't have the greatest social skills, and seeing as I don't drink and am not interested in one-night-stands, the typical social scene doesn't really cut it for me, and since I have no desire to join a religious social group, I appear to be fucked-over (ha ha) in the romance department. Yay for pity parties! :P Too bad the number of people attending is usually one. Bummer.
Anyway, I'm going to try to post more regularly and, possibly, with more art posts.
Oh, speaking of art, the only thing I've actually done that's different since the last time I posted was to become actively involved in the Inuyasha fandom and less involved with the HP one. But what does that mean when it concerns the Inuyasha fandom, you ask? Fan art, of course! And smilies (initially done for Zamaamiyagare! where you can find me posting under the moniker Azelle) that anyone can use if they want! Woot!
Title: Occamy Subject ...occamy Media used: Photoshop CS Notes: Not necessarily part of the main body of my series of creatures listed in Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them (focusing on the lesser known creatures that don't get the spotlight in fandom that they deserve), but in the same vein. There may be a few more black & whites done as filler.
And click here to see the quickly colored version.
What is an occamy? "A beautiful, carnivorous creature native to India and the Far East, resembling a winged snake, but plumed, having two legs, and reaching up to fifteen feet in length. As occamy eggshells are formed from pure soft silver, the occamy's reputation for aggression may be overstated, as most of its interaction with humans probably has consisted of defense of its eggs (FB)."

Title: Infestation Subject doxies Media used: Photoshop CS Notes: The third in my series of creatures listed in Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, focusing on the lesser known creatures that don't get the spotlight in fandom that they deserve.
Details: Going clockwise from the top left: portrait, doxy pulling hair, witch, smug photo (he's laughing at her problem), and in the center the small, oval painting (woman plucking an apple) ( Collapse )
What is a Doxy? "The Doxy is a small fairy-like creature that is covered with black hair. They have sharp vemonous teeth (FB). Doxies are pests. They can infest houses, taking up residence in the draperies. Removing them requires a good supply of Doxycide. It's a good idea to have an antidote for Doxy venom on hand as well (OP6)."

Title: Rudimentary Warning Signal Subject clabberts Media used: Photshop CS and Paint Shop pro 7 Notes: Apparently, I've decided to start a new series with creatures listed in Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, focusing on the lesser known creatures that don't get the spotlight in fandom that they deserve.
I should not be in so many communities. I know people get tired of seeing multiples of my posts in the HP fandom. :P
Anyway, just a weird idea that popped into my head.
Title: Late Night Snack Subject lethifold Media used: Photshop CS and Paint Shop pro 7 Notes: I have no idea why this popped into my head, but I had to draw it. :D Took 3-4 hours. May do some touch-ups and add a few more details later. This is actually almost 75% smaller than the original.
I can't believe the length of time it took for me to get around to this series again... Wow. I bet some people thought it'd never be finished. Well, it's not yet, but I'm already sketching out Hufflepuff.
The third in the series of four. Done in Photoshop CS with a Wacom tablet. Would have been done in Painter like the first two, but it was being a jerk and made me start over once due to it corrupting files while saving as well as shutting down for no reason. Hope it was... well, worth the wait sounds ridiculous due to a year-and-a-half inbetween, but I'll settle for on par with the other two.
What the heck? I just tried to open both saved copies of the Ravenclaw Common Room that I'm working on in Painter, and both are corrupted! What happened to them?
*sigh* I guess there must have been some sort of weird thing going on after my Wacom tablet stopped working while in the middle of sketching, and then I went and saved.
Great, now I have to start all over, and there were so many stairs to draw! Wah! :*(
Although I started this series way back in September '04, I'm just now finishing it due to major complications and a slight lack of interest until now. Anyway, I've begun working on another series I have yet to complete that I started even longer ago (back in May '04): the Hogwarts House Common Rooms. The main reason this one never got completed was because I couldn't visualise what Ravenclaw's and Hufflepuff's rooms looked like and wanted to have a fresh perspective and design like the Gryffindor's and the Slytherin's.
Now, I've got some ideas, have already started on Ravenclaw, and I hope to get both of them done by Saturday at the latest.
