I Was a Brunette in a Past Life

What is it about blonde chicks? They're dead sexy, in a cookie-cutter kind of way. Are they all loose? When I've been with them they have been. Perhaps that is an unfair generalization---perhaps that's just the way things are. Certainly, as a redhead, I am firy and often a bitch. Perhaps I too am subject to the genetics of hair pigmentation. I guess I'll always be a freak and no one will ever warm to me. Jesky is a redhead -- I think -- and she is pretty bitchy, too. What is your hair colour, and how does it weigh on your neurology?

Note: This entry isn't necessarily formatted in any traditional debate form but it's something to think about even if it's very personal.

"...And the 'Big motherfucking can of worms 2004' is awarded to.... CHEATING ON SOMEONE!!!!"

So, I cheated. It was my first time, but I guess it doesn't surprise me. And as soon as I did it, I know it will happen again. Well, maybe not. They say once a cheater always a cheater yet is that because it's a serial habit like child molesting or rape? Or is it a culmination of several things such as frustration, stress, lack of sleep and other factors such as a nervous breakdown? Or even more comforting(less depending on your position in the situation) is it genetic such as was suggested by a study that found that if the male of the species had large testicles that they were rarely truly monogamous? Are cheaters marked men? Fuck yes. Does it matter if it's genetic, habitual or emotional expression? Fuck no. It's still wrong.
It has been said that forgiveness is the understanding that there are less differences between us than similarities. Will I ever forgive you?

I hate how it seems like almost every other kid in this day and age has some sort of "mental disability". What frustrates me the most is the claim of 'add'.

I remember first hearing about add when I was in school, and how the kids who were "overly rambunctious" or the ones who "weren't doing well in school" were usually diagnosed with add. What I never really understood was how a bunch of toddlers young kids are supposed to sit still in a class and listen nicely for hours at a time. Most kids won't even sit still long enough to eat all of their dinner, they want to eat it a bit, than say they are full, go play with some toys and THEN come back and ask for a snack. They are on the go and busy, which is fine because that is how they learn. People also don't seem to factor in what type of home life the kid is having. I mean, if a child is living in an environment where there is something missing;ie their families are struggling, mommy and daddy don't talk, someone has some type of dependency, abuse, or even if they just don't get attention (the list of bad things that happen in a family just goes on and on heh) how can you expect them to hunker down and totally indulge themselves in class? Adults can't even handle situations of super stress like that, why expect a young kid too?

Where I grew up the school used to receive more money for the kids who were diagnosed with some sort of learning disability (which add is classified as). The more kids they had who were 'fucked in the head' the more money the state would give them for the learning disabled. I don't really remember seeing anything beneficial come out of this extra money, we always had the oldest text books and the worst equipment ever to work with, but somehow receiving extra money for feeding a growing individual pills in order to make their life seem stable and easier for them to live in just seems a bit off. It just seems to be such a cop-out to say "Wow my kid has adhd!" and give them some drugs and expect problems to be solved.

Maybe our generations have become too dependant on drugs? Or maybe it is because parents somehow expect to raise their kids properly by using a television set as their babysitter and teacher all in one? Maybe it is because the world is a totally fucked up place, in case nobody else has noticed, and us elders aren't the only ones who have noticed?

It seems like there is an influx of people these days who enjoy the whole 'debate' scheme, but their idea of debate is disagreeing with whatever another person has to say sheerly for the point of disagreeing. There is no actual facts or true thought behind what most of them are saying, just the idea that they want to tell you, No you are wrong.

It makes me wonder why people feel the need to do this. Is it some sort of urge to always have to be the person who knows everything? The one whom is the "end" of all discussions after what they have said has been stated, and therefore that must be the 'truth'? Is there some sort of sick humor that they find in this, or is it merely a part of their subconscious self to always have to have some sort of conflict.

I have noticed that most of the time the people who do this aren't even aware that they have disagreed with something that someone has said, without giving any sort of warrant or reason as to why they have done so. Usually there is something said that is some sort of swear word to try and demean the other person, or some type of witticism to make that person appear to be intelligent.

Here is what my thoughts are:
If you want to act like you know something, at least educate yourself a bit first.

The thing that really gets me these days is this PC sentiment. In Canada it's nigh escapable. The politcally correct movement is going to butcher itself in the end. One word become taboo, so they institute a new word to cover it. These less sharp words are just going to come to mean the same thing as the words before them.

Take the mentally retarded, for instance. They have gone through mentally handicapped all the way to developmentally challenged. Sure "challenged" might sound nicer than "retarded" but in the end it's end up at the same point. It's not the words that are the problem, it's what' behind them. Grade school kids of always going to make fun of the "special" kids in the "special" classes with down syndrome or whatever. It's all pretty trite in the end.

Education isn't going to help much either. People are as they are. Nothing changes. "The more things change, the more they stay the same." I just don't see the point of any of it. All you mothers with autistic kids need to realize that it's something more serious than you would like to make it out to be. These kids will never have a normal life. Perhaps you need to fucking stop kidding yourselves and realize that you're kids are fucked.

Well, the bible is surely a one-stop-shop of debatable material and questionable sentiment. Perhaps we should start there. As shagrinned as I am with the bible, I think it bears some relevance to how we live today. Most of our common beliefs are based on the bible (as well as some of the oldschool philosophers, but more about them later in the month). It's really tricky terrain. It's rocky and it's hard to get your footing.. but I'll give traversing it's foothills a go.

It states in the bible "mankind shall no lie with mankind as he lies with woman kind" and I've tried debating against this with people in the past, but it's moot on either end. -- is this to say lesbianism is all right? -- Well shit, it's just one of those things... it's in print, so it must be true!

Christians believe the bible to be the spoken word of god. When you bring anything up to the contrary (and I know this from arguing with jehovah's witnesses ad nausium)they will revert to that same passage in the bible that says god is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent; and it pisses me off, because they're just side-stepping landmines. Let's face it, visions as interpretted by name are subject to subjective interpretations.

It's quite easy to tinge what you're receiving with your own stances. Who is to say the "word of god" has been properly interpretted, because it's been through the seive that is a human mind, where the real grot has been left there and the watery substance of the bible has trickled through. I really don't get why either end of the spectrum would want to have anything to do wiht god.

Homosexuals start churches because they want the love of god as well.. and this is all fine and dandy, but, as they are basing this faith on the bible, i don't see how they can get by knowing that their lust is "an abomination". And true, this dictum is flawed, but they cease to have a better explanation for it. Heterosexual christians are another factor which perturbs me. They're so bent on being righteous that they do so to the exclusion of their own sense of reason, and I don't see any reason to continue the way they do.

I don't want anything to do with the homosexuals or the christians. Being bisexual I'm not going to be accepted by either side.. and let's face it, their dogma is pretty set -- on either side -- so why any of the effort? People were often not meant to get along, and all this sentiment for a unified world is completely trite and uncompelling. Perhaps we should all start killing each other and see who is the last one left standing.

This Is The First....... Hopefully it will not be the last ?

I guess that since there has been so much time that I have spent on this internet highway searching for some sort of information to keep me entertained, it made sense to try and share these things with others. On that little note, here is something for thought:

If something comes to your notice that you feel like asking, what the hell is with this? Or by some strange chance you learn something that you'd like to share with others and go, look at this shit! Or if you just felt like asking someone something sometime, well Thank You And Please Start Typing.
