SPN: not alone

An almost certainly doomed attempt to bring some order to this LJ

This post contains all the tags I have used to tag my posts so far. Tomorrow, I shall post-date it so that it always sits on top of the journal. And I will edit it to add new tags as I create them. Let's see how well this works.
SPN: not alone

Must be fall -- I'm watching TV again

I feel as if I should have some deep, meaningful thoughts about the SPN premiere, but all I can really come up with is Collapse )

Finally got to watch the Elementary pilot, only one day before the next episode airs. I liked it! The mystery kind of falls apart if you think about it too much, but the chemistry between these versions of Holmes and Watson is very enjoyable. I do hope Collapse )

Dammit, how much longer till Nikita? I'm in withdrawal here!

Fall TV, yay!

My TV viewing has been steadily declining over the past few years, until I'm down to only two shows I absolutely make sure not to miss every week. But hey, at least both my shows have kicked off the season in fine form!

In non-TV news, I've started picking up the Daredevil comic based on [personal profile] muccamukk's recommendation, and so far I'm really liking it. I've avoided Daredevil in the past, because everything I'd heard about the character indicated an excess of manpain and many fridged women, but apparently Mark Waid is trying to take him away from all that, which I'm totally in favor of. Also, Waid does really good banter. I've read three out of the first four issues so far, and right now it's running just behind Iron Man 2.0 in the "Marina's favorite Marvel comic" competition.

Oh, and while I was out getting a hair cut this afternoon, I picked up Claudia Gray's latest book. This is clearly a good fannish week for me.

ETA: Also, I got my Thor Blu-Ray from Amazon, and am now going to watch ALL the extras! Whee!

SPN: not alone

Various and sundry fannish things

Aside from last week's preview, I've managed to remain totally unspoiled for tonight's SPN finale. I've even avoided watching any of the on-line clips, which is a major feat of self-control for me. I expect there will be a lot of high-pitched squealing noises coming from Casa Rusalka tonight.

Between spn_j2_bigbang, sncross_bigbang, au_bigbang, and comicsbigbang, the internet is starting to flood with long, plotty, illustrated fics that are relevant to my interests. Do I have time to read any of them? NO! I TOTALLY DON'T! I'm reduced to desperately tagging things with a "to_read" tag on del.icio.us and hoping that one day my life becomes less hectic.

Speaking of things relevant to my interests, I bought way more Marvel Comics than is good for me yesterday. I think I'm going to drop Invincible Iron Man. Fraction's stuff just isn't holding my interest, and these days I can get my Tony Stark fix in Iron Man: Legacy and the new Avengers series. Also, I think Larroca's art is starting to actively damage my eyeballs at this point. Like, every time I finish an issue, I have to go stare at a picture of Robert Downey Jr. in a tank top until the pain goes away. I already spend way too much time staring at pictures of RDJ in a tank top, so this isn't helping.

OTOH, the new Black Widow series is thoroughly awesome. I hope it lasts. Also, I'm really enjoying the Iron Man Noir mini, even though it's totally not noir at all, but classic pulp. It's Tony Stark as Indiana Jones, I love it. I even have an epic plot bunny for it. Do I have time to write it? NO! I TOTALLY DON'T!

I need a time turner. Maybe then I could actually get shit done.
