Title: Fallen Heroes
Author: Daffyd ab Hugh
Language: English
Type: novel
Genre: scifi/noir
1st release:
Publisher:
Length: epub, 230 pages
heeee this is Apocalypse How and war porn wtf
set on two temporalities;
in one Odo and Quark wake up in a dead DS station and try to parse what happened;
in the other--three days earlier--DS9 faces unknown attackers who board them and gun everyone down looking for a hypothetical prisoner
it gets fixed at the end of course and nobody stats dead in the regular timeline but ew
this one should please quodo fans and big "last stand" fans but it squicks me and i'm not sure about the moral concerning little Molly: because both her parents are dead and she's traumatized she's better off dead
and/or erased from existence herself? why invoke Infant Immortality at all in this case?
also, to further drive the point home that combat triage is the worst Bashir got to withhold treatment from
his flirt of the week who's already too far gone, so other less injured patients have a better chance, and while i love when we inflict suffering on my blorbo, yeah no i'm sorry, that's simple, cheap Fridging
...it's well written but It's Very Not my personal cup of tea.
so i'm going to read something else before taking on the next DS9 novel and season 6
