I'm doing the Femslash February Meme that flo_nelja created for snowflake_challenge:

1) First time you encountered canon femslash
Sôma & Kendappa Ô in Rg Veda when I was, oh, 16 maybe? (but at the time I wasn't sure it was canon, what with them not really kissing, not confessing clearly enough for my young, unknowning dummhead to understand, and, well, dying.)

2) First times you encountered femslash shipping
Maybe in the Saint Seiya fandom--my first one--or for Gundam Wing a bit later--must have been, like, 15 or 16 then. At the time it was very much "pair the spares" (to make way for Teh Yaoi) rather than proper yuri-because-we-like-it shipping but. Here it was. And the symetry pleased me.

3) Is femslash the main part of your fandom life?
I won't say the main part; I'm a multishipper, I try to give focus to oft-neglected female characters but I don't keep track of my stats anymore; anyway it is a big part of my fandom life.

G: What was your first fandom?
That I contributed to, Saint Seiya. Before that, only in my own head? Yoko Tsuno.

what the hell, I'm tired of complaining about my life and this meme is going round my DW circle again, let's finish it!!

D: What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?
Either cracky yaoi fic for Saint Seiya or cracky yaoi fanart for Saint Seiya I was 14 back then, ok?, I don't remember which came first, and thankfully they've been lost in the wreck of YahooGroups.

This night I dreamed that I was attending a convention, yes despite the quarantine, it was a small one and went almost unnoticed. Weirdly I wasn't with my best fandom friend this time but with my brother and his friends, ( Read more... )

I'm going to lump these two and rec well not individual pieces but fanartists I came across on Tumblr while trawling characters tags:
making-friendos make the cutest Steven Universe art. It makes me go aww each time.

bishonen-shun does gorgeous Saint Seiya pieces; look what one can do with coloured pencils!! I want to be able to do something like this one day!

and perrywhyte makes very distinctive KorrAsami fanart; one could maybe say that there's always something a bit weird in the faces or body proportions, but look how full of joy it is!! I want to make art that fills me with such joy too.

fmOk so I definitely bit more than I could chew as after the first line I never found the time/energy/motivation to translate the rest of the fics as I wrote them. Whatever. I still had fun and I do it later if I want to—no pressure.

And now I'm freee! for five whole months, to write for genprompt_bingo and for fffc, to finish and edit my past two NaNos, to do whatever new fic I want!
