It's just with the second surgery and more major antibiotics, I am off of basically everything keeping me okay. No anti anxiety anything, no allergy meds, not even my vitamin E, and now that I'm off opiates, no painkillers either.

But I only have a couple more days of this and then however long it takes me to build up back to decent, mood wise.

I still do cherish everyone and such, but I can't concentrate or settle or relax right now. I am however coloring a bunch of mandalas from an old art therapy book of mine and organizing my bookmarks and catching up on my podcasts.

but I feel great otherwise! )

[edit] Also, thank you everyone for all of your well-wishes and sympathies. Because the clinic and the hospital were having problems communicating, I think it might actually end up cheaper? Not sure. Here's hoping? In any case, paying in cash will knock 50% off, so it might actually end up affordable, who knows.

having cried it out, but still, this no insurance thing sucks. *sigh*

  1.  Thank you, everyone, for the amazing response. I really needed it, and I appreciate all the reassurance that the surgery will fine. Actually, I must look petrified, because everyone I've talked to in the last couple of days has reassured me. :)
  2. First round of payments sorted and I am officially booked for next Friday. Can't live on antibiotics forever, right?
  3. My mom got a nicer job today, yay! and my sister called me, and my MIL apologized for being rude *and* took us out for lunch and a drive. I really appreciate the universe paying it forward.
  4. I WON A BOOK OMGS :DDDDD [edit] Whoops, forgot to put the pertinent info: Poltergeeks by Sean Cummings

Well, at least doctor's visits aren't terribly expensive? *laughs weakly*

It was $93 to see the dermatologist and they will call me back when the surgeon is free and I've spent enough time on antibiotics.

The bad news was how much the antibiotics cost sans insurance: $190.87

*sigh* At least it's getting done and the doctor was nice. She nerded out (her words) over the cysts and we had (slightly painful) fun getting samples to culture. And she thinks the antibiotics will relieve a lot of the pain too, which will be amazing.

  1. IT IS ALMOST TUESDAY, THANK EVERYTHING HOLY.
  2. Dratted dollar sale at the Nook store, spent gift card on books.
  3. Probate proceeds apace; I am exhausted from the boring butt-numbing bits, and the dirty humid mosquito-y rained on musty bits, but at least it's getting done.

Complaining time now because I deserve it: OW THIS STUPID THING. I OFFICIALLY DON'T LIKE SHARP POKE-Y PAIN. At least it's down from a 10, I hate sleeping all day (painkillers of all sorts don't work very well on me, sadly) now I get to sit carefully and at least read light fluffy stuff. *sigh*

Almost Tuesday.

I have been so excited to tell you lot what I've been reading that I completely missed posting yesterday because I am easily distracted. ;(

What did you just finish reading? Mary Robinette Kowal's sorta Jane Austen + magic series. (The first one is called Shades of Milk and Honey.) I was on Jim C. Hines's blog looking for something interesting to read that 1) wasn't dystopian or post-apocalyptic; 2) was longer than a single book; 3) was written by a woman. His review made the book series sound right up my alley and I basically fell in love and ate them all up.

What are you reading now? The Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. I finally downloaded the first couple of chapters of the first book when I was searching around book blogs for reviews of Kowal's book, so I could find more books along the same lines. Well, the google search returned a bunch of book blogs whose shorthand verdict was: Kowal's books will entertain people who like the rubbish that is the Parasol series. (No lie, the first blog I found actually used that frequently in reviews as a shorthand - good for people who like the Parasol series.)

You all know me: I went ahead and got the series and rushed through them just to see how it ended. It was so good that I have immediately started to reread slower to enjoy the world and take it all in now that I know what happens.

What do you expect to read next? The comic series Lumberjanes! Girl Scouts solving mysteries and beating monsters, what's not to love?
  1. Reading stuff again \o/
  2. Got a couple of movie tickets as a present from my Gramps, went to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 - it was great!
  3. Through a combination of ibuprofen and sitting very carefully, I currently don't hurt :)
*sigh* My appointment Tuesday honestly can't come soon enough :/

  1. Mom actually came over and helped clean out more of the old food \o/
  2. Finally got to watch the new Fairy Tale eps
  3. New air filter, hopefully that will help with the allergies

So I actually was brave enough to make a dermatologist appt for my cysts. I was hoping I could finally get insurance first, but one of them hurts so much it's hard to walk and sit and sleep, so yeah :(

Here's hoping this isn't super expensive. *crosses fingers*

Long week so far, as always ;)
  1. Over with the cramping portion of the month
  2. Mom got to sign the papers finally! \o/ We went out to celebrate
  3. Now we have the internet (mostly) in the loft. Well, at least enough internet to IM reliably, which is the important part
majoline: picture of Majoline, mother of Bon Mucho in Loco Roco 2 (Default)
UGH CLEANING OUT STORAGE ROOMS.  But I took care of myself yesterday, was hydrated, monitored my blood sugars et al. so I could enjoy taking a break today!
  1. watched the men's final of the French Open :)
  2. broke out my calligraphy supplies
  3. had a nice breakfast *and* lunch \o/

And I lost my first post. ;)

I was going to type something long and explanatory and then I typed something short and explanatory and whatever.

Today's three things are indicative of the fact that we've moved into yet another place the hoarder lived, even if that place was his weekend loft and therefore, very much nicer than the crappy old trailer.
  1. Bought (and could afford!) cleaning supplies.
  2. Cleaned out half of the pantry, then scrubbed cobwebs and pollen away.
  3. Enjoyed dinner and a movie and a shower! IN MY OWN HOME.
majoline: picture of Majoline, mother of Bon Mucho in Loco Roco 2 (Default)
  1. SO MUCH LESS STRESS TODAY. Keeping our money and our place, ftw! \o/
  2. Can #2 be I'm still happy? No? Um............ posting again was way less bad than I'd anticipated. UGH anxiety.
  3. Next week I get my ID card *\o/*
#

Different three topics, not my three good things:

BWAHAHA CHRIS MCDANIELS. Here's hoping for a Democratic upset!

I am so far behind for this week's deadline, oof. Constantly playing catch up because of hanging on to my stuff by the seat of my pants sucks. I'd rather be behind because of procrastination, you know?

Protip: If you love the people in your life who would be screwed over by your death, please leave them a will. They will remember you fondly instead of cursing because they spent a month in probate court.

  1.  The bf's account is ours again, yay!
  2. NEW COMPUTER FINALLY BEFORE THE CRAPPY LAPTOP HD DIES COMPLETELY
  3. One suit over with completely, one half way done, and the other just needs more signatures YES REAL LIFE FINALLY. I am SO TIRED.
majoline: picture of Majoline, mother of Bon Mucho in Loco Roco 2 (Default)
Three good things:

  1. clean fridge means eating at home! \o/
  2. having a good day taking a break
  3. enjoying catching up with friends <3
majoline: picture of Majoline, mother of Bon Mucho in Loco Roco 2 (Default)
[personal profile] chestnut_pod challenged me yesterday to write three good things instead of doing what I normally do, which is pretend the Internet doesn't exist until everything is better. (Well, three lawsuits and whatnot, five months later, the getting better might take a while.)

So.
  1. We are moving across to the loft officially. Today we cleaned out the fridge there and sorted a bunch of clothes and dishes! \o/
  2. I was given a couple of books by [personal profile] shanaqui and I have been using a gift card my Gramps gave me to B&N. Books are nice.
  3. I have made all of my deadlines this week!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO, WHY CAN'T I FEEL GOOD FOR A WHILE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I have to keep reminding myself that a cold is not a setback. *sighs hard; ends up sniffling*

I feel like I should have a sign: [This many] days since I was last sick. *grumps grumps grumps*

I am brewing my second cup of minty green (decaf!) tea, in the hopes that the headache will go away. BLAH.

Now comes the question: was I out of energy the past day or so because I was lazy or just gearing up to be sick? The world will never know.
