Ah, I'm freezing. I really quite like winter, but it makes it so impossibly hard to get out of bed in the morning. It's just so warm in my nice comfy bed! If I actually woke up early enough maybe I should start turning on my space heater ^^. That'll solve it! *drool*

My coolest of cool friend Christy bought my an outfit on Last Chaos, an free MMORPG that we play. It's this really cute little Japanese kimono that's short and very pretty. Now I just need to get my rogue high enough to actually wear it! If you like games like Everquest or WoW but don't want to play money, you should try Last Choas.  Not as good as those you pay for, but still good.

Anyways, Stargate Atlantis recs. i think I'll do HP next!

I felt like doing a theme rec today, which is rather hard because I tend to sort my stories by genre. As well, it's hard to find many stories of one theme that are well written. But I felt like doing one so there. Some of these may not be a favourite of mine, but they're still good.

There are different levels that Atlantis can be considered sentient. Some of these are a little harder to define in that category.

Harry Potter: 

You know what funny? I've noticed a lot of the really good stories are named "Harry Potter and the..." I wonder why... ^^

The House Which Time Forgot

Summary:  After the Dobby incident at the beginning of the second book, Harry runs away, and Snape kidnaps him. In an old-fashioned house with no comforts and a huge black dog, Harry finds himself at Snape's mercy as Snape plays mind games and makes Harry live through different scenarios. Though Snape seems crazy and psychotic, Harry begins to see reasons behind Snape's sporadic behavior.

There's corporal punishment in this fic, and Snape starts off rather mean, which I actually prefer. Stories where Snape suddenly become this nice guy don't feel very realistic (realistic for fanfiction based on a book that is ^^"), because that's simply not how he is. And part of the reason I like him is that he's a prick. Characters need to stay at least a little in character, unless it's an AU. But that's just my opinion. Still, this is a good read. 

Harry Potter and the Bloody Summer

Summary:  Danger creeps around Privet Drive as Voldemort abandons his one-attempt-per-year plan. He's going in for the kill. 

Poor Harry gets quite beat up; than again, when does he not? My favourite aspect of this story is the interaction between Ron and Harry. Ron's not my favourite character, though I certainly hold no dislike to him; however, in this story I really appreciated him. And LOL, Beary Botter! And Voldebeart! The twins are awesome!

Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills

Summary:  Snape blows his cover as a spy to save Harry from Voldemort. To win the war, even those who loathe each other must unite, and many lessons are learned in the process. 

I haven't read this is a while, But even without remembering much, I know it's a favourite. Again, featuring Harry and Snape (seeing a pattern?). It was fun to see the American Magical world, and it was well-done with interesting people.

Not the normal type of fic I rec. It's somewhat sad and painful. And it has zombies O.o but it's really good, even if it leaves you somewhat darkly contemplative.

 

Ahhh, I love Sunday nights. Even though I work in the morning, and don't get off until around 5ish, there's something about Sunday night that really seems like the weekend. I watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Love that show) and laze around, doing no homework during the school year and rarely going out. I think everyone needs to take one night to themself, where they don't go anywhere. Maybe it'll make people a little more friendly ^^"

Anyways, on to the recs. Supernatural, Smallville and SGA today ^^. Really, you all will be seeing a lot of SGA, because I love it and read it like crazy!

Smallville:
I love Smallville, but it's kinda annoying having a character that's so all-powerful and Superman is. However, I still hope for good stories and every once in a while search for more ^^. Lex and Clark are so cute!!

Crack fic, which I don't normally read, but OMG this story is hilarious! I normally love Clark and Lex, but really, Mercy is 75% of the reason that I love this story. If only she was always written like this!

Amnesia!John. Very well-written. It's all from John's point of view, and it's interesting to see how he percieves Rodney, and to a much lesser extent Teyla and Ronon with no memory. It just kind of sweeps you along.

Supernatural:
I love Sam in fanfiction, but I love Dean when I watch it. Strange ^^"
